Kev Mahserejian offers advice on the Week 10 NBA Waiver Wire and offers his choices for the Top Week 10 Fantasy Basketball Pickups.

(Note: Roster % is as listed for Yahoo! leagues. FAAB bid range is based on a percentage of a fantasy basketball player’s remaining budget.)

Week 10 NBA Waiver Wire: Top Week 10 Fantasy Basketball Pickups

Davis Bertans, PF/C, Washington Wizards (66% rostered)

Davis Bertans has been on FIRE over the past two games with 14 made three-pointers on 17 attempts. He was slumping hard not only since his return from COVID but really since the season began. Bertans is shooting below 40% from the field for the first time in his career. He has stated recently that he is getting the feeling/rhythm back after shooting below 30% during the first 10 games since his absence.

Bertans is not the most all-around fantasy player given his lack of stocks and assists, but for a big man, he can provide an elite number of threes per game with solid boards and percentages. He is a speculative “must-add" to see if he can keep this hot streak up and normalize his season stats.

➕ Davis Bertans FAAB bid range: 15-20% ➕

Michael Carter-Williams, PG/SG, Orlando Magic (19%)

The former Rookie of the Year is the only healthy point guard in Orlando, therefore, he is an add. Is this something you want to do? No. Is this something you have to do? Also, no. Is this something that could help your fantasy team if you’re in need of assists and hopefully punting field goals? Sure.

To be fair to MCW, he did miss a large chunk of games since Jan. 4 before returning just over a week ago. He has played in the past four games and is averaging 12.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.3 assists, one stock, and almost a three per game. This is not spectacular considering that he is shooting 31.4% from the field and 73.7% from free throw but we know he is all Orlando really has until Cole Anthony returns from his shoulder injury post-All Star Break.

Michael Carter-Williams FAAB bid range: 3-8%

Garrett Temple, SG/SF, Chicago Bulls (6%)

Otto Porter Jr. is out indefinitely due to a back injury, and Lauri Markkanen had a setback in his injury absence which leaves Garrett Temple in the starting lineup for the foreseeable future. Temple is not a massive volume producer in any one category but he’s decent all-around. Over the past five games, Temple is averaging 11 points, 4 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.6 threes, 1 steal, and 1 block.

He won’t wow you but he won’t hurt you either. His season-long 42.9% field goal is fine given the low volume and 82.1% free throw doesn’t help you much on one attempt per game. He is only averaging one turnover per game as well. Temple is the definition of a fine week-long streamer or end-of-bench glue guy. There is decent upside if one of Coby White or Zach LaVine gets hurt.

Garrett Temple FAAB bid range: 1-5%

Sleeper NBA Week 9 Waiver Wire Pickup

Facundo Campazzo, PG, Denver Nuggets (8%)

During Will Barton‘s absence, Nuggets’ rookie Facundo Campazzo stepped up and surprised a lot of us with his skill-set. He is a smooth operator who can shoot and pass well. The team was clearly very comfortable playing him heavy minutes as he has averaged 29.7 over the past four games. Barton even returned to play 34 minutes in their most recent outing and Campazzo still fit in 28 of his own.

During this four-game stretch, Campazzo is averaging 13.5 points, 4 assists, 1.8 rebounds, 2.3 threes, and 2 steals per game. This production should not be expected ROS with a healthy Nuggets team but is a good indicator that Campazzo will be productive for fantasy if he does earn minutes in someone’s absence. Once Gary Harris (thigh) does return for good, Campazzo’s minutes will be impacted but it is possible he stays in the rotation to a certain degree.

Facundo Campazzo FAAB bid range: 0-3%
