Vikings-Packers Odds and Betting Lines

  • Against The Spread: Packers -7 (+100)/Vikings +7 (-121)
  • Moneyline: Packers (-310)/Vikings (+240)
  • Total: 52.5 — Over 52.5 (-110)/Under 52.5 (-110)
  • Implied Team Totals: Packers 29.5, Vikings 22.5

Once viewed as a contender entering the year, the Vikings are coming apart at the seams. They face a Packers team who is legitimately competing for a Super Bowl but are two games removed from their first loss of the year at the hands of the Buccaneers back in Week 6.

In the season opener, the Packers edged out the Vikings by a score of 43-34.

Vikings-Packers Players to Watch

Vikings QB Kirk Cousins will have to play his best football to give the Vikings a shot to win this game.

While Cousins threw for 259 yards with 2 touchdowns and an interception in the season-opening loss to the Packers, he’s had an inconsistent campaign the rest of the way.

Cousins finally recorded his first 300-yard game in Week 6 against the Falcons while also registering his second game with at least 3 touchdowns in the aforementioned matchup leading into Minnesota’s Week 7 bye.

Cousins has thrown for fewer than two scores in four of six games, and he’s 2-4-1 lifetime against the Packers.

Packers QB Aaron Rodgers is off to an incredible start to the year. Despite being 18th in attempts (208) and 15th in passing yards (1657), the future Hall of Famer is third in passing touchdowns (17). (He was certainly happy to have Davante Adams back last week; the pair combined for 16 targets, 13 completions, 196 yards and 2 TDs.)

Rodgers is also the No. 1 quarterback in adjusted yards per attempt (8.9) and total quarterback rating (85.4); No. 2 in true passer rating (118.9); and No. 9 in true completion percentage (74.5).

Rodgers is 5-4-1 in his last 10 games against the Vikings, victorious in each of his past three outings against them and 3-1-1 in his last five.

Vikings-Packers Weather Report

The weather report at Lambeau Field calls for a cloudy and windy afternoon with a 0% chance of precipitation.

The temperature at kickoff is forecast at 34 degrees Fahrenheit and West-Northwest wind gusts at 25 mph.

Vikings-Packers Betting Guide

BEST BET: Packers -7 (+100)

In each of the past two games between the Packers and Vikings — both Packers wins — Green Bay would have covered the 7-point spread in both of them, winning each game by at least 8 points.

Green Bay is 5-1 against the spread in all six games played in 2020, while the Vikings are 3-3 ATS.

The Packers are also 4-1 ATS in their last five games against the Vikings.

CONSIDER: Over 52.5 (-110)

The Packers are averaging the second-most points per game this season (32.8) while the Vikings are the 17th best (25.8) in that category.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Packers are surrendering the 19th-most points per game (26.5) while Minnesota is yielding the 30th-most (32.0).

While the Over is 3-7 in the last 10 meetings between the Packers and Vikings, it would have gone over in three of their past seven matchups, which includes the season opener.

The 52.5-point total would have hit the over in four out of Green Bay’s six games played this season and in five of Minnesota’s six games.

PASS: Vikings (+240)

The Packers swept the Vikings last season, and Minnesota was a playoff team. In 2020, the Vikings are shells of their former selves, which means the Packers are clearly the superior team. They will handle their business and sweep Minnesota for the second straight season with a win on Sunday.

I am steering clear of the Vikings Moneyline, flushing the “any given Sunday" narrative down the toilet along with this lost season for the Vikings.
