Texans-Browns Players to Watch
HOU QB Deshaun Watson just keeps on producing, despite tallying just two wins on the season. Over his last five games, Watson has thrown for at least 281 yards and has two or more passing TDs in each contest. Facing a Browns’ secondary that has allowed 12 receiving touchdowns and an average of 188.25 yards per game to opposing WRs, I’d expect quality outputs from Watson as well as his top two targets, Will Fuller and Brandin Cooks.
CLE QB Baker Mayfield has done enough to lead the Browns to a 5-3 record, but his passing numbers are nothing to write home about. With 15 TDs and 7 interceptions, he’s averaging less than 200 yards passing per game. Baker has a nice matchup against a Texans D that allows opposing QBs to throw for an average of more than 270 yards per game to go along with 18 passing TDs in eight games. Plus, I think the team’s bye week will help the Browns’ offense.
It’s CLE RB Kareem Hunt that should be the most important player on the field on Sunday. Averaging close 20 touches and 80 total yards per game since taking over as the lead back for the Browns, he and a set-to-return-from-IR Nick Chubb get a Browns D that has given up 10 rushing TDs and close to 150 yards on the ground per game this season. If these two backs gets going, Cleveland could run away with this one.
Texans-Browns Weather Report

BEST BET: Browns -3 (-125)
I absolutely love the extra juice on this spread since it means the sportsbooks want to try to keep you away. Well, that won’t work on me! I think the number is off as I’d be willing to take the Browns to cover up to six points.

CONSIDER: Over 49 (-110)
This pick is a story of two different versions of the Browns. In their five wins this season, they’ve scored at least 32 points per game. The team has totaled 19 points in its three losses. The Texans are a bit more consistent, whether they win or lose, averaging 24.1 PPG with a season low of 16. Since I’m taking the Browns to win, I’ll consider the over in this one. The weather, specifically the wind, is what pushed this from my best bet to the consider category.
PASS: Texans (+150)
The Texans are going to lose this game, one way or another. I love Deshaun Watson, but when your only two 2020 wins are against the Jags, I’ll spend my money elsewhere.
