Even casual NFL fans know many major facts about the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers heading into Super Bowl 58.

The Chiefs aim to become the first team since the 2003-2004 New England Patriots to repeat as Super Bowl champions, and the 49ers are hoping to tie the Patriots and Pittsburgh Steelers by winning their sixth Lombardi Trophy.

But there are a lot of fun and interesting items regarding both teams and the game itself, plus the host city of Las Vegas that you might not be aware of.

Here are some fun and interesting facts about Super Bowl 58, some of which could play into your wagering approaches.

Super Bowl 58 By The Numbers


According to the American Gaming Association (AGA), a record 67.8 million adults (26 percent) are expected to bet on Super Bowl 58. Based on the AGA survey, that would be a 35 percent increase from last year.


Bettors plan to wager an estimated $23.1 billion on this year’s Super Bowl, an increase of $16 billion from last year, via the AGA.


The AGA highlighted that bettors are very close in choosing who will win Super Bowl 58. The Kansas City Chiefs are the slightly preferred pick, as 47 percent of bettors plan to wager on the Chiefs, and 44 percent intend to go with the San Francisco 49ers.


When Isiah Pacheco starts in Super Bowl 58, he will become the first running back since 1977-78 to start at running back in a Super Bowl in each of his first two seasons. Hall of Famer Tony Dorsett was the first ever to do so.


The 49ers will play in their eighth Super Bowl on Sunday, tied for the second-most among all NFL franchises. San Francisco leads all NFL clubs with 38 postseason wins.


Brock Purdy was the final pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, at No. 262. Isiah Pacheco was also taken in the seventh round, 11 picks before Purdy. The 2022 NFL Draft was held in Las Vegas, the site of Super Bowl 58.


Patrick Mahomes is 6-0 with 11 TDs and no interceptions in his last six playoff starts. He has won 14 of 17 career playoff starts and can become the third QB with at least 15 career playoff victories, joining Tom Brady (35) and Joe Montana (16).


Since he was drafted in 2022, Purdy has an .808 winning percentage as a starter, which leads all NFL QBs with a minimum of 20 starts (including playoffs) during that span.

According to Next Gen Stats, Travis Kelce led all NFL tight ends with 393 receiving yards during the regular season when the nearest defender was a linebacker.


Fred Warner allowed just a passer rating when he was the nearest defender in coverage, the lowest passing rating allowed by any linebacker in those situations.


At age 28, Patrick Mahomes is aiming to join select company in Super Bowl 58. If he wins his third Super Bowl on Sunday, the Kansas City superstar will join Tom Brady and Troy Aikman as the only QBs to win three Super Bowls before their 30th birthdays.


On BetMGM Sportsbook, 54 percent of the wagers and 55 percent of the money is on heads as the winning coin toss. The 49ers are drawing 55 percent of the wagers but 48 percent of the money.


If Kyle Shanahan wins Super Bowl 58, he and his father Mike, who won consecutive Lombardi trophies with Denver in 1997-98, will become the first father-son coaching duo to win Super Bowls.


Chris Jones has 11 passes defended in his career in the playoffs, the most ever by a defensive lineman. Only legendary Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis has more passes defended by a non-defensive back, with 15.


The U.S. Chamber of Commerce estimated that Las Vegas will see an extra 150,000 visitors for Super Bowl 58, in addition to the regular 300,000 visitors who watch the Super Bowl in the city every year. The Las Vegas metropolitan area is expected to see at least $500 million in economic impact.


During the regular season, San Francisco became the first team in NFL history to have a RB, two wide receivers and a TE finish with 1,000-plus scrimmage yards.


Allegiant Stadium has a capacity of 65,000, making it the fourth-smallest venue in the NFL, as noted by USA Today.


San Francisco last won the Super Bowl on January 29, 1995. Ed McCaffrey was a wide receiver on that championship 49ers team, and his son Christian can help end the title drought for the Niners on Sunday.


Mahomes and Kelce have combined for 17 postseason TD passes. They have surpassed Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski (15) for the most TD passes by a QB and pass-catcher in NFL history.


With a win in Super Bowl 58, Purdy can get his fifth playoff win in his first two seasons, which will tie the record set by Ben Roethlisberger.


The Sphere in Las Vegas has featured a display throughout the week that showcases all 57 Super Bowl championship rings. The corner of Caesars Palace at Las Vegas Boulevard and Flamingo Road is where fans can find a giant Vince Lombardi Trophy behind a massive Super Bowl 58 logo.


In the NFC Championship Game, the 49ers became the first team in NFL history to win a conference title game in which the winning team trailed by 17-plus points at halftime.

The Hunt family owns the Chiefs and is one of five NFL franchises the same family has owned for over 60 years (64).


The 49ers were founded in 1946 and joined the NFL in 1949, but they first won a championship in January of 1982 when they beat the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl 16.
