The ACC is generally considered to be a stronger conference than the AAC, but the latter will have a much stronger representative in the Fenway Bowl. SMU lost to Oklahoma and TCU during the regular season before defeating Tulane in the AAC Championship, while Boston College lost three straight to end the year.
The Mustangs will be without star quarterback Preston Stone, who broke his leg in SMU’s final regular-season game. Redshirt freshman Kevin Jennings got the job done against Tulane in the conference title game, but the Mustangs will need to limit turnovers if they’re to defeat the Golden Eagles.
Even with a favorable crowd, I don’t see a path for Boston College to come out on top here.
