Seahawks Football Team Bet Tips

Odds & Betting Lines for Seahawks-Football Team Picks

  • Against The Spread: Seahawks -5 (-110)/Football Team +5 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Seahawks (-240)/Football Team (+190)
  • Total: 44.5 — Over 44.5 (-115)/Under 44.5 (-105)
  • Implied Team Totals: Seahawks 24.75, Football Team 19.75

The Seahawks are in second place in the NFC West and the fifth seed in the NFC playoff picture. With the division still in reach, the Seahawks are in a must-win spot. 4-4 in their past eight games, the Seahawks are 3-1 in their past four games, victorious last week over the Jets.

The Football Team is in a similar spot. While they are in first place in the East, they must-win to control their own postseason destiny. They more than likely need to win the NFC East to get into the playoffs as their current record knocks them out of Wild Card contention should they get knocked out of first place.

Seahawks-Football Team: Key Injuries

Seahawks

The Seahawks designated TE Greg Olsen to return from the injured reserve list. He’s been sidelined with a foot injury, missing each of the past three games. Expected to resume practicing this week, Olsen has a chance to play on Sunday against the Football Team.

If Olsen continues to sit, Will Dissly will be the primary pass-catching tight end for the Seahawks, ceding reps to Jacob Hollister. While Hollister (10) has drawn more targets than Dissly (7) in that three-game period with Olsen sidelined, the latter was more productive. Hollister put up a 6/51/0 line to Dissly’s 6/51/1 line.

The Football Team has given up the sixth-most (6) touchdowns to tight ends in 2020.

Football Team

The Football Team has two key offensive starters on the injury report ahead of Sunday’s matchup with Seattle. QB Alex Smith suffered a calf injury, which is not viewed as serious, in last week’s win at the 49ers. And while he is expected to play, Smith has yet to practice this week. If Smith sits, Dwayne Haskins will draw the start.

RB Antonio Gibson remains on the injury report with a toe injury sustained early in Week 13’s win over the Steelers, forcing him to miss last week"s victory over the 49ers.

While the Football Team has managed to tread water and win back-to-back games with their stud rookie rusher injured, they could use Gibson’s explosive versatility against the Seahawks, a team that can put up points when Russell Wilson is cookin’.

If Gibson is inactive for the second consecutive game, J.D. McKissic and Peyton Barber will continue to manage the workload with the former handling the bulk of the touches.

While Barber is deemed the early-down back, McKissic saw 11 carries for 68 yards last week, both season highs, adding another 18 yards on 2-of-2 targets. Barber led the team in carries with 12, but only took them for 37 scoreless yards.

Seahawks-Football Team Players to Watch

Seahawks WR Tyler Lockett has been quiet. Normally a boom-or-bust player anyway, Lockett has now gone three straight games with fewer than six receptions and 63 yards without a score. While Lockett had a nine target game in that period, he’s seen fewer than five in the other two.

Since Lockett popped for a 15/200/3 line on 15 targets back in Week 7, he’s had fewer than 67 yards in all seven games and only one score in that period.

Lockett may have a difficult time getting back on track yardage or touchdown-wise facing the Football Team on Sunday. Washington’s defense has carried them to first place in the NFC East including tough wins over the Steelers and 49ers in back-to-back matchups. The Football Team’s defense is allowing the third-fewest passing yards per game (206.3) in 2020.

Seahawks Football Team Bet Tips and Seahawks-Football Team Picks: Terry McLaurin will have to step up for Washington to preserve its playoff hopes.

Football Team WR Terry McLaurin has been quiet of late. While the Football Team has both matchups against the Steelers and 49ers, McLaurin has logged fewer than six targets, two receptions, and 24 yards without a score.

McLaurin is on a five-game streak without a touchdown. And while he has failed to top 100+ yards receiving in that five-game period since Week 9, McLaurin logged three games with 84+ yards including two in the 90s before his two-game slump.

McLaurin has an excellent opportunity to not only get back on track, but he could also pop facing a Seahawks secondary that is playing better but can still be lit up. The Seahawks are yielding the most passing yards per game (294.8) this season.

Seahawks-Football Team Picks & Best Bet

BEST BET: Under 44.5 (-105)

At one time, taking Seattle Overs was a near lock. However, that is no longer the case. While the Seahawks’ offense popped last week against the Jets, they have scored fewer than 28 points in each of the four games leading up to Week 15. In three of those games, Seattle scored fewer than 23 points with two outings in the teens.

The Under is 7-3 in the Seahawks’ past 10 games, hitting in five straight.

The Under is 7-3 in the Football Team’s past 10 games, hitting in two straight.

The Under is 4-2 in the past six meetings between the Seahawks and the Football Team, hitting in three straight.

The Under is 8-1 in the Football Team’s last nine games facing a team with a winning record.

Seattle’s defense was much worse earlier in the year. Currently, they are allowing the 15th most points per game (24.9). Meanwhile, the Football Team’s defense is as stout as ever, allowing the sixth-fewest PPG (21.2).

CONSIDER: Football Team +5 (-110)

At one time, this game was a mismatch. However, that was in the first half of the year before the Football Team began to get it together. While I will feel more confident if both Alex Smith and Antonio Gibson play, I won’t rule Washington out if one or both sits.

Although Gibson is terrific, the Football Team has managed to win the past two games without him — remember, Gibson, injured his toe very early in the Steelers win and did not play at all in last week’s victory over the 49ers. The Football Team has also won its past two games versus tough opponents with Terry McLaurin logging two of his worst outings of the year.

The Football Team is tough and gritty like their head coach (Ron Rivera) and defensive coordinator (Jack Del Rio). The Football Team also has a top-five pass rush in sacks while facing a Seattle offensive line in the top five in sacks allowed. If Washington can get after Russell Wilson, the cook may be the dishwasher on Sunday.

I like the Football Team with the points here, but I don’t think it is crazy to believe they can win this game outright at home.

The Seahawks are 4-6 against the spread in their past 10 games, but 2-4 in their past six. They covered last week following two straight fails.

The Football Team is 7-3 ATS in their past 10 games, covering in four straight.

The Football Team is 2-3-1 in their past six meetings with Seattle.

CONSIDER: Football Team (+190)

For many of the reasons stated above in my Football Team ATS blurb, I believe they can pull off the outright win. Considering the way Seattle has played of-late, I am not even sure if this can be called an Upset Special if the Football Team indeed takes care of business.

Russell Wilson has 13 giveaways in his past eight games. He has committed 12 of those turnovers in their four losses in that eight-game period. If the Football Team can force Wilson to make mistakes with their menacing pass rush, the Football Team will get the job done.

The Football Team is 3-3 straight up in their last six meetings with Seattle.

The Seahawks are 3-3 SU in their past six games, but 3-1 in their past four.

The Football Team is 5-2 SU in their past seven games, winning each of their past four.
