Last Updated: Jan 8, 2021

The Baltimore Ravens visit the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field on Wednesday at 3:40 p.m. ET. This game was postponed from its Thanksgiving Night slot several times due to COVID-19 cases. Here’s our complete guide to Ravens Steelers Bet Tips.

All odds and lines from PointsBet, current as of Tuesday at 9 a.m. ET.

Baltimore Ravens (6-4) at Pittsburgh Steelers (10-0)

Ravens Steelers Bet Tips

Ravens Steelers Odds and Betting Lines

  • Against The Spread: Steelers -4 (-110)/Ravens +4 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Steelers (-216)/Ravens (+170)
  • Total: 45 — Over 45 (-110)/Under 45 (-110)
  • Implied Team Totals: Steelers 24.5, Ravens 20.5

UPDATE 11/30: The Ravens now have several key players on the COVID-19 list, including quarterback Lamar Jackson, TE Mark Andrews, and running backs J.K. Dobbins and Mark Ingram. This sorely diminishes their chances of upending the 10-0 Steelers.

The odds and lines have violently swung in the direction of the Steelers:

  • Against The Spread: Steelers -10.5 (-110)/Ravens +10.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Steelers (-551)/Ravens (+400)
  • Total: 42.5 — Over 42.5 (-110)/Under 42.5 (-110)
  • Implied Team Totals: Steelers 26.5, Ravens 16

Aside from their health issues, the Ravens are reeling, losers in three of their past four games. They will look to turn their season back around in the right direction facing the Steelers, who remain undefeated. If the season ended today, the Ravens would miss the playoffs.

This is a must-win spot for Baltimore. If the Ravens lose, they will be eliminated from winning an AFC North for the third straight year.

Ravens Steelers Players to Watch

Ravens RB Gus Edwards is in the spotlight in the Thanksgiving nightcap. With Mark Ingram and J.K. Dobbins sidelined on the COVID-19 list, the Ravens are left with Edwards and the seldomly used Justice Hill at running back.

While Baltimore is down two of their top backs, all is not lost. Edwards has had success against the Steelers in the past. In each of his past two games against them, Edwards drew 16+ carries for 87+ yards. He also scored in his last meeting against them back in Week 8.

Edwards also went for 130 rushing yards against the Steelers back in Week 17 of the 2019 campaign. He remains the only running back to rush for the century mark against the Steelers since the start of the 2019 season.

Pittsburgh’s defense is allowing the seventh-fewest rushing yards per game (103.4) this season while surrendering the third-fewest touchdowns to enemy backs (5).

Edwards must get going on Thursday night. Otherwise, the Ravens’ offense will be one-dimensional, even more so, which doesn’t bode well for them returning to the win column.

Steelers WR Chase Claypool has had a sensational rookie campaign so far. The big-bodied versatile wideout is a weapon all over the formation, including taking carries as a rusher. He’s already scored two rushing touchdowns in 2020.

Speaking of touchdowns, that is where Claypool is most dangerous. Claypool has scored 10 total touchdowns this season, the second-most of any wide receiver.

Claypool has scored at least one touchdown in five of his past seven games and nine total in that time period. However, he’s totaled fewer than 69 yards in each of his past five contests since Week 7.

In Claypool’s only other career meeting with the Ravens back in Week 8, he posted a 5/42/1 stat line on nine targets and lost a fumble. He did not get a carry that game.

Baltimore is allowing the seventh-fewest passing yards per game (217.0) along with the fewest touchdowns.

Ravens Steelers Weather Report

The weather at Heinz Field calls for an overcast night at the time of kickoff with an 8% chance of precipitation.

The temperature is forecast at 53 degrees Fahrenheit with 5 mph winds blowing Southwest.

Ravens Steelers Bet Tips

UPDATED 12/2

BEST BET: Ravens +10.5 (-110)

While the Ravens are severely shorthanded, especially on the offensive side of the football, they are still a desperate team with their backs up against the wall, fighting to keep their playoff hopes alive.

With Lamar Jackson sidelined, Robert Griffin III will start. If you remember back to last December, RGIII picked up a 28-10 victory over the Steelers. It was a very different scenario, however, Ben Roethlisberger was out for the Steelers and the Ravens had nothing to play for. Still, he is a capable NFL backup, a former starter and he knows the system.

Defensively, the Ravens will have their secondary intact. And although they will miss a handful of key players across their front seven, the Steelers will be without James Conner, their stud rusher. The Ravens actually match-up well with the Steelers this week, all things considered.

There is also a head-coaching factor. John Harbaugh is one of the best head coaches in the NFL. Look what Sean Payton is doing without Drew Brees and how well Kyle Shanahan is managing all the injuries the 49ers dealt with this year. Harbaugh is in that same league.

A loss to Pittsburgh would also eliminate the Ravens from winning the AFC North. Baltimore needs this game. This could also be a trap game for the Steelers. A loss is coming.

The Ravens are 2-6 against the spread (ATS) in their past six games.

While the Steelers are 3-2 ATS in their past five games facing Baltimore, the Ravens are 6-4 ATS in their past 10 meetings.

I like the desperate team to cover.

CONSIDER: Over 42.5 (-110)

Both the Ravens and Steelers can score points, but they can also play stout defense.

Baltimore is averaging the 12th most points per game (27.1) this season while surrendering the fewest PPG (18.3).

Pittsburgh is averaging the fourth-most PPG (30.1) this season while allowing the third-fewest PPG (19.0).

The Over is 3-2 in the past five games between the Ravens and Steelers. It has hit in three straight.

The Over is 3-2 in Baltimore’s past five games.

The Over is 1-2-2 in Pittsburgh’s last six games. The only time their total has hit the over in that six-game time period was back in Week 8 against Baltimore.

The Over is 3-1 in the past four Ravens-Steelers games in Pittsburgh.

PASS: Ravens (+400)

If you are playing the desperation team narrative, the Ravens Moneyline is the way to go. However, it is nowhere near a lock, especially now with Jackson set to miss this one.

Perhaps last season, when Baltimore was a dominant regular-season team, I would be all over this, especially at (+400) odds, but the current product the Ravens are putting on the field looks like a shell of what they used to be.

For what is on the line, this is a must-win for the Ravens. I am confident that they will cover the spread, but an outright win might be hard to come by.

I am not saying that a Ravens win is impossible, but my confidence level in it is at a low.
