While the Ravens had quite a few notable departures, additions such as Watkins, Zeitler, Bateman, Oweh, and Cleveland are expected to make immediate impacts. Watkins and Bateman in particular will bolster a receiving corps that has lacked depth in recent years, bringing more balance to an offense that has grown dependent on the run game.
Bringing in Zeitler should also benefit the offense significantly. The Ravens felt the loss of Marshal Yanda in 2020 following his offseason retirement, but Zeitler gives them a veteran presence as one of the league’s top interior offensive lineman. Cleveland also gives them valuable depth on the line and an immediate plug-and-play starter should Baltimore suffer an injury at guard.
The Ravens finished last season ranked seventh in PPG (29.3) while surrendering the second-fewest PPG (18.9). There weren’t many significant changes to their defense, which should repeat as a top-five unit. Overall, Baltimore projects to be one of the NFL’s best teams on both sides of the ball again this year.
Ravens 2021 Make Playoffs Bet: Yes Or No For Baltimore?
Baltimore Ravens: Make Playoffs In 2021-2022 NFL Season? YES (-350)
As usual, Baltimore’s schedule is brutal. Not only do they play in the bruising AFC North — the only division with three 10+ win teams last year — but they are slated to face an additional five clubs that reached double-digit wins last season. Regardless, look for the Ravens to hit the 10+ win mark for the fourth straight year while qualifying for the postseason along the way.
