Patriots Texans Players to Watch
Patriots WR Jakobi Meyers has emerged as New England’s top receiving threat in the past four games.
Since Week 7 has had at least six targets, four receptions, and 58 yards in all four games, including two games with 10+ targets.
While Meyers has only logged one game with 100+ receiving yards and has yet to score a touchdown, he did throw a 24-yard touchdown to Rex Burkhead last week, showcasing his versatility.
Look for Cam Newton to continue favoring Meyers against Houston.
Texans QB Deshaun Watson is the key to a Houston victory.
While he is fresh off of a lucrative contract, Watson has not exactly lived up to it, especially in the win column, which is why Bill O’Brien is no longer employed as Texans head coach — also see the DeAndre Hopkins trade.
Watson has played in three career games against the Patriots, posting a 1-2 record and 1-0 against them at home.
In two of those games, Watson has thrown for 234+ yards and 2+ touchdowns and holds a 6:3 TD:INT against Bill Belichick’s defense. Watson also caught a six-yard touchdown in last year’s win.
Patriots Texans Weather Report
The weather at NRG Stadium calls for a partly cloudy afternoon at the time of kickoff with a 4% chance of precipitation.
The temperature is forecast at 76degrees Fahrenheit with 3 mph winds blowing South-Southeast.
Patriots Texans Bet Tips
BEST BET: Patriots (-136)
The Patriots have won two straight games. While they did struggle to a win over the Jets in Week 9, they were also victorious over the Ravens last Sunday night. A game they had no business winning.
New England is playing well. They appear to be turning around their season.
Meanwhile, the Texans will be without David Johnson for the second straight game and are left with Duke Johnson at running back, a rusher who has difficulty maneuvering in between the tackles, which could make the Texans’ offense a one-dimensional treat for Bill Belichick.
The Patriots are 8-2 straight-up against the Texans in their past 10 meetings but lost their last matchup against them in Houston last year.
Deshaun Watson is 1-2 in his career against the Patriots.

CONSIDER: Under 48.5 (-110)
In a game that features a pair of teams that have under-performed on either side of the ball this season, it is difficult to favor the Over.
New England is averaging the sixth-fewest points per game (21.0) in the NFL this season while surrendering the 10th-fewest PPG (23.4).
Houston is averaging the eighth-fewest PPG (22.2) while allowing the seventh-most PPG (28.0).
The Under is 4-1 in Houston’s last five games at home.
The Under is 3-3 in the past six games between Houston and New England.
Pass: Texans +2 (-105)
If you like the Texans getting the two points, then you are better off taking their Moneyline at (+115) odds.
In the past 10 meetings between these two clubs, every game has been decided by at least three points.
This is one of those games in which I like the Moneyline over the point spread in either direction, only I favor the Patriots to win, which is why I am passing on Houston.
The Texans are 2-7 against the spread this season.
