Texans vs Titans Predictions Week 11 | NFL Pick of the Day

Last Updated: Nov 19, 2021

One of the more potentially lopsided matchups in Week 11 is the AFC South showdown between the Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans.

The Titans are tied for the best record in the NFL at 8-2, while the Texans haven’t won since Week 1. But with all the upsets happening across the NFL lately, is it Houston’s turn to stun their division rivals?

Let’s dig in with our Texans vs Titans predictions and bet picks.

Mike Barner’s season record: 13-19-1 (-8.07 units)

Texans vs Titans Prediction

It wasn’t easy, but the Titans emerged with their sixth straight win in Week 10 with a hard-fought 23-21 victory over the New Orleans Saints, who were without Alvin Kamara.

Tennessee’s rushing attack continued to struggle sans Derrick Henry, recording fewer than 70 yards on the ground for the second consecutive game with Adrian Peterson again failing to make much of an impact.

Tennessee isn’t just shorthanded at running back, either. Julio Jones (hamstring) was placed on IR prior to their Week 10 matchup, continuing what has already been an injury-plagued season for him.

While injuries continue to mount for the Titans, the Texans should be a bit healthier coming off their bye week. Their offense has been virtually non-existent during their losing streak, tallying fewer than 23 points in eight consecutive games and scoring in single digits five times during that stretch.

While Houston’s offense is a bit more potent with Tyrod Taylor back under center, it won’t be able to keep pace with a Tennessee offense that’s averaging 27.8 points per game — fifth in the NFL. The Titans should have little trouble scoring on a Texans defense that’s surrendering the fourth-most points per game this year (28.7).

Look for Tennessee to remain hot against one of the worst teams in the NFL.

Prediction: Titans 27, Texans 13

Texans vs Titans Best Bets

Best Bet: Titans -10 (-110) at Caesars

Wager: 1 Unit

Given the nearly opposite records of both contestants here, this game deserves its lopsided spread on our NFL gameday odds. The concern is, will the Titans play down to their competition again? They lost to the Jets earlier in the season and nearly lost to a depleted Saints team last week as well.

That said, Tennessee recently blew out the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams, so they’re capable of beating anyone by double digits. Houston, meanwhile, has been outscored by an average of 18.3 points per game during their losing streak, so they haven’t even been competitive.

The Texans have already lost six games by double digits this year, and Week 11 should be the seventh.

Best Bet: Under 44.5 Points (-110) at Caesars

Wager: 1 Unit

Despite Taylor’s return in Week 9, the Texans could only muster up nine points against the lackluster Miami Dolphins. Houston ranks dead last in scoring with 14.2 points per game, and their inability to put points on the board makes the Under quite appealing for our NFL bet of the day.

Furthermore, the Titans have seen their scoring output decrease in consecutive games as their offense has been less explosive without Henry and Jones. With five of the Texans’ last seven games falling below this total, this game has the potential to be another low-scoring affair.
