The 8-4 Tennessee Titans still lead the AFC South despite losing back-to-back games before last week’s bye. The 7-6 Indianapolis Colts are coming on strong, however, so they’ll look to rebound against the 2-10 Jacksonville Jaguars this week.
The Jaguars, meanwhile, are tied for last in the division with the Houston Texans, which is not where they hoped to be after taking Trevor Lawrence with the first overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. They’ve lost four games in a row while struggling mightily on both sides of the ball.
Which team will bounce back with a win in this AFC South showdown? Let’s explore with our Jaguars vs Titans predictions and best bets.

Jaguars vs Titans Prediction
Tennessee’s offense has been decimated by injuries in recent weeks as Derrick Henry, Julio Jones, and A.J. Brown have all missed time. Their absences have left Ryan Tannehill without many reliable weapons, which explains why they’ve managed just 49 points over their last three games combined.
As bad as the Titans have played lately, the Jaguars have been even worse. They’ve recorded fewer than 20 points in six straight games and rank second-to-last in scoring this year, ahead of only the Texans. Their defense has been a mess as well, yielding the fourth-most points in the NFL this season.

Both teams are coming off brutal losses, but Tennessee has several advantages. In addition to playing at home (where they are 4-2 this year) against a team that’s winless on the road this year, they’re also coming off a much-needed bye week.
This projects as a get-right game for the Titans, who should be able to win even with their scuffling offense. The return of Jones from the IR should give them a boost, and Jacksonville’s defense is unlikely to offer much resistance.
The Jaguars, on the other hand, have lost three of their last six games by at least 20 points and are having a hard time staying competitive these days. They are the football version of the Titanic right now.
Prediction: Titans 21, Jaguars 13
Jaguars vs Titans Best Bets
Best Bet: Jaguars +9 (-112) at TwinSpires
Wager: 1 Unit
It may not take much for the Titans to cover a more than a touchdown on our NFL gameday odds, but the Jaguars should be able to put some points on the board against a division rival allowing the 10th-most points in the NFL this year.
If James Robinson is healthy for this game, he and Carlos Hyde should be able to move the ball against a run defense that ranks 16th in the league, per Pro Football Focus.
And while Jacksonville’s defense has been up and down lately, they’ve held opponents to 23 points or less in three of their last five games, which gives them a decent shot at covering against the Titans’ sputtering offense.
I totally understand not wanting any part of this as it’s the Jaguars, but this has some value in a “hold your nose" bet.
Best Bet: Under 43.5 Total Points (-110) at Caesars
Wager: 1 Unit
Even with Jones back in the fold, Tennessee’s offense is still heavily diminished without Henry and Brown. Tannehill has looked lost at times lately, throwing four picks against the Texans and completing just 11 passes against the New England Patriots before the bye.
Even if you give the Titans 30 points in this game — which is more than they’ve scored in their last two games combined — I’m still not confident the Jaguars can score 14 points to reach the Over. Jacksonville has failed to reach double-digit points in three of its last six games and is averaging a measly 10.7 points per game during that stretch.
This is going to be a slow, low-scoring game between two offenses that have appeared lifeless lately. You may be able to find this total at 44, but you’ll likely have to surrender some juice to do so.
I don’t see this clearing either way, so make this Under your NFL bet of the day.
