2021 NBA Western Conference Winner: Best Bet

Los Angeles Clippers To Win 2021 NBA Western Conference (+200)

Kawhi Leonard has shown the capability to win a Championship as the lead dog before and with the dearth of veteran talent on this roster to compliment him and Paul George, the Clippers are in a prime spot to take it all. The additions of Rajon Rondo and DeMarcus Cousins may not be massive but just getting 10-15 minutes out of each would be huge.

While the Lakers may still be the *best* in a vacuum, they are nowhere close to healthy and it will be a tall task to ask LeBron James and Anthony Davis to both stay on the floor throughout the playoffs. These two teams did not meet in last season’s bubble but had they, maybe the championship winner would have been from the other side of Staples Center.

The Clippers are first in offensive rating and that is with George missing 14 games this season. As long as George’s foot does not act up, this team is the one to beat in the Western Conference.

2021 NBA Western Conference Winner: Value Bets

Phoenix Suns To Win 2021 NBA Western Conference (+1400)

The Suns are playing out of their minds.

The addition of Chris Paul really made this team a contender not only via his on-court impact but his leadership and veteran presence guiding the team along with Monty Williams instilling a strong system and good rotations that doesn’t gas starters.

The Suns are second (!!) in net rating across the entire league. They possess the top-end talent and depth necessary to mesh together on a conference champion team. Paul may not have the best playoff track record, but he will not have the weight of the world with Devin Booker next to him. Mikal Bridges, Jae Crowder and Cam Johnson present a vicious trio of 3-and-D wings that can attack opposing teams in a multitude of ways. Also, former first-overall pick DeAndre Ayton has taken a step forward as a leader of the frontcourt on both ends.

The Suns don’t have any weakness outside of a lack of experience for Booker/Bridges/Ayton/Johnson but that’s possibly why this line is as low as it is. Take advantage of poor assumptions others may make here and jump on +1400.

Portland Trail Blazers To Win 2021 NBA Western Conference (+3300)

The Trail Blazers come off as a fugazi thanks to their point-differential and strength-of-schedule thus far but they have played a large chunk of this season without both C.J. McCollum and Jusuf Nurkic. Those two core pieces are back and relatively healthy with Damian Lillard playing out of his mind as per usual. Robert Covington, their big offseason acquisition, has finally begun to mesh after a tumultuous start to the season. Covington, since March, is averaging 11.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.6 steals, 1.6 blocks and 2.7 threes while shooting 48% from the field and 46% from 3-point range.

The Blazers are not exactly clicking yet but they are a lock for the playoffs and can make noise after repeated failures set expectations back (and made this line juicy as hell). Anything can happen in a 7-game series and we know how much ice Lillard has in his veins. There is no one player in the league I trust more with the ball in his hands for a game-winner. Now, that is not WHY you should be on the Blazers but a little cherry-on-top to add confidence to a bet.
