The NBA returns after a one-night sabbatical with a massive 12-game slate as the close of the regular season draws near. There are still several teams with playoff/play-in position and/or berths to play for, which leaves us with multiple key games in which starters should log a normal workload and produce strong individual performances.
Let’s get right to it and identify three of our best NBA prop bets today.
Please note that all NBA gameday odds are current as of Tuesday, April 5, at 12 p.m. ET from Caesars Sportsbook.
NBA Props 4/5/22: Brooklyn Nets vs Houston Rockets
Andre Drummond OVER 23.5 Points + Rebounds (-110) at Caesars
Wager: 1 Unit
The Rockets have been a sieve in the frontcourt all season, and even more so now that Christian Wood (hamstring) has been shut down. Houston checks in allowing NBA-high 37.7 percent offensive efficiency to centers, along with the most points (26.2) and fifth-most rebounds (15.6) per game to the position.
Drummond is averaging 13.3 points and 11.0 rebounds over his last 10 games, with those figures coming in at 14.5 and 12.5, respectively, during the six home games he’s played in that sample.
He’s also combined for at least 24 points and rebounds in 15 of his 32 starts, and he’s averaged 10.5 points and 8.5 rebounds across just 17 minutes per game — much fewer than he’s logging in his current starting role — in two prior outings against the Rockets.
As such, we’re backing Drummond to hit the Over here for our NBA bet of the day.

NBA Props 4/5/22: Toronto Raptors vs Atlanta Hawks
Fred VanVleet OVER 25.5 Points + Assists (-120) at Caesars
Wager: 1 Unit
VanVleet has averaged 22.0 points and 10.3 assists per game against the Hawks in three outings this season, shooting 41.2 percent from three-point range during those games as well.
The Hawks come in allowing the fifth-most assists per game to PGs (9.2) and the fourth-most dimes per road game overall (26.4), largely the byproduct of conceding an elevated 47.4 percent success rate from the floor when traveling.
VanVleet is averaging 21.2 points and 6.8 assists per game at home this season and has posted at least 26 combined points and assists in 36 of 62 games overall. Atlanta has also been more vulnerable to point guards of late, giving up 26.1 points and 8.0 assists per game to the position in the last seven.
Given the metrics cited and the fact the game is still a meaningful one for the Raptors, I like VanVleet to hit the Over on this prop.
NBA Props 4/5/22: Oklahoma City Thunder vs Portland Trail Blazers
Aleksej Pokusevski OVER 22.5 Points + Assists (-105) at Caesars
Wager: 1 Unit
Pokusevski has been one of the bright spots for the short-handed Thunder as they close out a mostly miserable season, averaging 13.3 points and 5.9 assists over his last 10 games (seven starts).
The second-year big is coming off a spectacular 17-point, 12-assist, 10-rebound triple-double against the Suns, and he’s averaging 15.3 points and 8.7 assists per 36 minutes with both Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (ankle) and Josh Giddey (hip) off the floor.
The Trail Blazers are allowing the fifth-highest shooting percentage on the road (48.2), and, unsurprising when considering that weakness, the third-most assists per away game as well (27.1).
Pokusevski posted 11 points and 11 assists against the Blazers just four games ago in Portland, and Chauncey Billups‘ team is allowing an NBA-high 28.3 points and the second-most assists (5.2) to power forwards in the last seven games.
