Myrtle Beach Bowl Betting Odds & Storylines
Spread: Georgia Southern -3.5 ()
Over/Under: 49.0 ()
Moneyline: Georgia Southern -164 (), Ohio +158 (Caesars)
This game took a turn when Ohio QB Kurtis Rourke announced that he was entering his name into the transfer portal. Rourke attempted 307 of the 367 passes for the Bobcats this season, and now Parker Navarro will be tasked with leading the offense after only 10 attempts himself.
That gives Georgia Southern an edge despite entering the Myrtle Beach Bowl on a four-game losing streak and having an opponents’ overall win-loss record of 68-76. Their recent losing streak also boosted their opponents’ rush rate to 48% on the season, good for 20th in Division I. GSU will need to slow Navarro and RB Sieh Bangura, who both have had success on the ground.
The Myrtle Beach Bowl is in its fourth year, and the favorite has covered and won outright in each previous contest. The Over/Under is 1-1-1.

It’s unfortunate that we do not get to see Rourke against a beatable Eagles defense, but the running game is good enough to lead the Bobcats to points.
The most underrated aspect of this game is the Ohio defense. Their run defense tied for 10th in yards allowed per game despite seeing over 29 runs attempts against on average. Their 269.2 yards allowed per game is top five in the nation.
Rourke’s absence carries weight for this game, but Ohio is the better team and played well during their non-conference portion of the schedule. The under is also in play.
