The Red Sox have struggled this year but will send their ace to the mound tonight against the White Sox, who have also disappointed. Boston’s Nate Eovaldi has a 2.51 ERA through five starts and has been one of the American League’s better pitchers over the past few years, making the Red Sox a good bet at home against the always inconsistent Vince Velasquez.
The Blue Jays have a tough game on tap against Shane Bieber (2.45 ERA) and the Guardians in Cleveland, but Toronto is starting one of MLB’s hottest hurlers in Kevin Gausman (2.27 ERA). Because the pitching matchup is so close, taking the better lineup is the play so that’s why we’re picking the Blue Jays.
The Giants will host the Cardinals, who are starting converted reliever Jordan Hicks. Hicks has yet to complete four innings in a start this year as he continues to be stretched out, so San Francisco should be able to do some damage against the St. Louis bullpen.
With three great picks here, this is our MLB parlay bet of the day.
MLB Longshot Parlay Bet Today
Today’s Longshot Parlay (+887)
- Philadelphia Phillies Moneyline (+135)
- Kansas City Royals Moneyline (+105)
- Tampa Bay Rays Moneyline (+105)
WAGER: 1 Unit
Although our longshot parlay of the day has two solid teams that will likely make the playoffs, all three legs here are underdogs.
The Phillies have another challenging divisional game against Max Scherzer and the Mets, but Philadelphia’s lineup is loaded and they have Kyle Gibson (2.93 ERA) on the mound. The Phillies scored four runs against Scherzer the last time they faced him, so he’s not untouchable.
The Royals have a fairly easy road matchup against the Orioles — one of the worst teams in baseball at 10-16. Baltimore is starting Jordan Lyles, who has a career record of 56-81 with a 5.19 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP. Carlos Hernandez is off to a rough start for Kansas City, but this is a good bounce-back spot for him after posting a 3.68 ERA last year.
The 16-10 Rays are always a threat to win with their deep roster, especially a pitcher like Logan Gilbert who has clearly overachieved thus far and is due for some regression. Tampa Bay is going with one of their patented bullpen games, which seems to be their specialty and should help them prevail over the 12-14 Mariners.
