The Giants and Nationals are one of the most lopsided matchups on the slate, as San Francisco won 42 more regular-season games than Washington last year. The Giants also have a cushy matchup against one of the worst pitchers in baseball in Patrick Corbin, who’s 9-18 with a 5.93 ERA and a 1.51 WHIP since the beginning of last season.
The Rays have a divisional matchup with the slumping Red Sox on tap and will be sending veteran Corey Kluber to the hill. Kluber has looked dominant so far this season and while Boston’s lineup is amongst the best, they have Michael Wacha on the mound. Wacha has looked great to start this season, but it’s hard to expect that to continue.
Tarik Skubal, one of the premier young pitching talents in the game, will toe the rubber for the Tigers against the Rockies. Colorado is shockingly off to an 8-4 start, but they’re bound to crash back to earth eventually, especially on the road against an electric arm like Skubal.
Michael Kopech has battled numerous injuries throughout his career, but the former top prospect is now at full health in the White Sox rotation. He’s looked excellent in his first two appearances of the season and is facing a Twins lineup that has underwhelmed recently, making this an easy pick at (-110) odds.
With the excellent odds this parlay presents, this is our MLB parlay bet of the day.
MLB Longshot Parlay Bet Today
Today’s Longshot Parlay (+1220)
- Toronto Blue Jays Moneyline (+145)
- Baltimore Orioles Moneyline (+145)
- Miami Marlins Moneyline (+120)
WAGER: 0.5 Units
Our longshot parlay features three underdogs with the best chances of pulling off an upset.
While the Blue Jays can win on any given night with their lineup, they have a tough matchup against Justin Verlander and the Astros on tap. While Verlander looks revitalized, Toronto’s offense is a brutal draw for any pitcher and always gives them a chance.
Betting on the Orioles to win is the definition of a longshot, but they actually have the pitching advantage against the Angels tonight. Baltimore’s Bruce Zimmermann has yet to allow a run this year, while the Angels’ Reid Detmers has done nothing but struggle since making his MLB debut last year (career 7.71 ERA).
The Marlins are in a sticky situation against the defending World Series champs, especially with Trevor Rogers off to a rough start this year. He’s due for a bounce-back outing after posting a 2.64 ERA last year, however, and we’re not ready to trust Kyle Wright just yet.
