The Nashville Predators raised their game a level at even strength on Wednesday night against the Carolina Hurricanes. Filip Forsberg fired five shots on goal and with the series shifting to Nashville on Friday night, most have become bullish on this prop. The hope is that this number may slide back to -145 to -150 given that Carolina allows just 28.2 shots per game.
Forsberg created four scoring chances in Game 2 along with a couple straight off the rush. That is how the left-winger is going to beat a goalie like Alex Nedeljkovic. The rookie Carolina goaltender has superior lateral movement but is susceptible to a fake now and then. Forsberg just has to get into the open ice as often as he did on Wednesday night.
Carolina helps Nashville in a way here. Nashville plays a bit differently at home and John Hynes will have to keep playing Forsberg for 17 or more minutes because they are that desperate for offense (two goals in two games). If Jaccob Slavin is out of the lineup again, that only elevates Forsberg’s chances further to hit this shot prop.
So, the left-winger averaged 3.3 shots per game and 3.5 shots a contest at home for Nashville this season. That even included a stretch where Forsberg was playing injured. Take this over on the shot prop and maybe even look at that anytime goal prop of +180 tonight.
