March 2 NBA DFS Picks: Choose Kawhi Leonard, Jayson Tatum’s Tough Matchup

Last Updated: Mar 3, 2021

March 2 NBA DFS Picks on Monkey Knife Fight: Monkey Knife Fight (MKF) combines elements of daily fantasy sports and traditional prop betting to offer a unique array of contests daily for a multitude of sports, including 3/2/21 NBA DFS Plays.

With NBA season in full swing, MKF enhances the enjoyment of the hardwood with exciting opportunities each night to win cash based on your knowledge of some of the league’s top players.

The Game Day breaks down two MKF contests daily that we feel have profit potential. With Tuesday’s slate featuring plenty of big names, here’s a closer look at some opportunities involving some of the most offensively explosive players in action:

March 2 NBA DFS Picks

Los Angeles Clippers at Boston Celtics

MKF Contest: More or Less, Fantasy Points (Pick 2/2 correctly to win 2.5x your Buy-In)

MKF NBA Fantasy Points Scoring System:

  • Point= +1 point
  • Assist= +1.5 points
  • Rebound= +1.2 points
  • Steal= +3 points
  • Block= +3 points
  • Turnover= -1 point

Kawhi Leonard, SF, Los Angeles Clippers: More Than 44.5 Fantasy Points

Leonard has already accrued more than 45 MKF points in 17 of 29 games this season (including a 48.7 showing against the Celtics on February 5), with six of those occasions coming in the last eight games. The Celtics are certainly a strong defensive team on paper overall, but they’re not anywhere near the same unit without Marcus Smart (calf), who remains out. Leonard is making his usual across-the-board contributions and is shooting an ultra-efficient 51.1 percent, and he should remain heavily involved in a game that’s projected by oddsmakers as a wire-to-wire battle.

Jayson Tatum, SF, Boston Celtics: Less Than 44.5 Fantasy Points

Tatum naturally has the raw talent to exceed this benchmark on any given night, and in fact, he’s done so in 14 of 29 games already. That includes a tally of 55.4 MKF points against this same Clippers squad on February 5, but that was a game Tatum played without Jaylen Brown and Los Angeles without Paul George’s tough defense. Granted, Brown is questionable for Tuesday’s game with knee soreness after sitting out Sunday versus the Wizards, but Kemba Walker has taken on a much more prominent role in the offense of late and is averaging 18.4 attempts over his last five games. When also factoring in Tatum should see plenty of both Kawhi Leonard and George whenever he has the ball, I’m taking the Less on the 44.5 MKF points for Tatum in this case.

Phoenix Suns at Los Angeles Lakers

MKF Contest: More Or Less (Pick 2/2 correctly to win 2.5x your Buy-in)

LeBron James, SF, LAL: Less Than 8.5 Assists

James faces a stingy Suns defense that’s actually allowing the second-fewest assists per game (22.0) and third-fewest points per road contest (107.1) as well. Phoenix is also surrendering the seventh-fewest assists per contest (3.7) to small forwards specifically, and LeBron has fallen short of this benchmark in five of the last seven, and in 23 of 35 games overall.

Devin Booker, SG, Phoenix Suns: Less Than 27.5 Points

Booker just went off for 43 points Sunday against the Timberwolves on Sunday, but he gets a major step up in competition Tuesday. The Lakers are allowing just 44.8 percent shooting overall, including a Western Conference-low 33.6 percent from three-point range on their Staples Center home floor. Additionally, Booker has actually only exceeded this benchmark in eight of 29 contests, and despite some excellent offensive performances of late, I see him falling somewhere short of the lofty number due to the caliber of the opponent.
