Jets Chargers Players to Watch

Jets WR Jamison Crowder has played incredible this season. However, he has been in and out of the lineup with multiple injuries. The latest, his groin.

In his first four games of the year, Crowder drew 10+ targets, hauled in 7+ passes, and 48+ yards. In three of those games, he went for over 100.

And while his latest game, his Week 9 return from the aforementioned groin injury, Crowder only recorded two receptions for 26 yards on two targets, he did manage to score his second touchdown of the year on one of his two grabs.

Coming off a Week 10 bye and as healthy as he’s been all year, Crowder will look to put together another complete game facing a tough matchup with a Chargers defense allowing the fifth-fewest receptions (104), the eighth-fewest receiving yards (1,389), and the fourth-fewest touchdowns (8) to wide receivers.

Chargers RB Kalen Ballage is playing in his third game with the Chargers. And wouldn’t you know it, it is his second straight revenge game.

In his first two outings with Los Angeles, Ballage has recorded 15+ carries for 68+ yards. He also scored one touchdown in that time period, back in Week 9 against Las Vegas.

Ballage also managed 3+ targets, 2+ receptions, and 15+ yards in those consecutive matchups since Week 9.

Following his 102 total yard outing in last week’s revenge game against Miami, Ballage will get the Jets in his second one.

The Jets are a top 12 team in rushing yards (912), rushing touchdowns (8), receptions (58), and receiving yards (388) allowed to enemy running backs.

Jets Chargers Weather Report

SoFi Stadium is a dome. The weather conditions do not apply.

The temperature is forecast at 75 degrees Fahrenheit at the time of kickoff.

Jets Chargers Bet Tips

BEST BET: Jets +8.5 (-115)

The Jets and Chargers are two of the worst teams in the NFL. However, while the Jets haven’t looked the part most of the year, the Chargers have kept games close more times than not.

The Jets did not cover the spread in their first six games but are 2-1 in their past three.

The Chargers were5-1 against the spread in their first six games to open the year but failed to cover in each of their past three.

The underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings between the Jets and Chargers. In this scenario, the Jets are the dogs.

CONSIDER: Over 46.5 (-110)

While the Jets have struggled to score points at times this season, they have been better of late.

They scored 27 points in their last loss to the Patriots in Week 9, their second-highest total of the season. The Jets only scored 20+ points two times in nine games.

The Over is 6-3 in the Chargers’ nine games played in 2020, but 6-0 in their past six games after opening the season 0-3.

The total hit the Over in the last game the Jets have played back in Week 9 preceding their Week 10 bye, snapping a four-game drought.

PASS: Chargers (-430)

If you wager the Chargers moneyline, you are not only laying a ton to win a little, but the victory is not a lock.

This is the second Moneyline this week I am punting because it could be a trap game — see my Cowboys-Vikings write-up.

Sure, the Jets are clearly out-matched. However, they are coming off of a bye and coming off of one of their best losses of the year. The Jets are also getting healthier on offense and growing comfortable with Joe Flacco under center.

Sure, the Chargers should win, but it is not a lock. Wager your monies elsewhere.
