The GameDay breaks down two MKF contests daily that we feel have profit potential. With Wednesday’s slate featuring plenty of big names, here’s a closer look at two opportunities involving some of the most offensively explosive players on the slate:
January 20 NBA DFS Picks
Boston Celtics at Philadelphia 76ers
MKF Contest: More or Less (Pick 2/2 correctly to win 3x your buy-in)
Jaylen Brown: More Than 25.5 Points
Jayson Tatum will remain out for the Celtics on Wednesday, and Boston will be honed in on erasing the memory of a shocking 30-point loss to the Knicks on Sunday. That should leave Brown, who’s averaging 25.8 points per game this season on career-high 52.9 percent shooting and boasts a 31.7 percent usage rate with Tatum off the floor, with plenty of extra scoring opportunities. The fact the 76ers allow elevated 38.7 percent three-point shooting to small forwards and rank in the bottom 10 in offensive efficiency allowed to the position helps make the case for Brown putting up at least 26 points, a mark he has already exceeded in five of 12 games.
Tobias Harris: More Than 18.5 Points
Harris has scored 19 points or more in six of 11 games this season, and he checks in with career bests in overall shooting percentage (50.0) and three-point shooting percentage (43.4). He also shot 40.0 percent from deep in four regular-season games against Boston last season and won’t have to worry about Tatum’s defense Wednesday. What’s more, Boston is allowing 24.6 points per game to power forwards, the sixth-highest figure surrendered to the position.

Selected Players: Nikola Vucevic, Damian Lillard, Stephen Curry
This trio has unquestioned upside, and each finds himself in favorable circumstances Wednesday.
Vucevic faces a Timberwolves team that will continue without Karl-Anthony Towns (COVID-19 protocols) and that’s been soft on centers all season. Minnesota gives up an NBA-high 40.2 percent offensive efficiency to fives, along with a league-high 28.1 and 5.8 assists per game to the position as well. The T-Wolves are also surrendering 60.9 percent shooting, including 45.2 percent from behind the arc, to centers. In turn, Vucevic boasts a well-rounded line of 22.9 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.3 steals, with the first and last figures both new high-water marks.
Lillard will be without C.J. McCollum (foot), and Dame boasts a mammoth 32.4 percent usage rate with his teammate off the floor this season. McCollum has been averaging a career-high 20 shot attempts per game, so there should be no shortage of additional opportunities for Lillard, who’s already putting up 19.3 shots per contest in his own right. The opposing Grizzlies are also ranked in the bottom half of the league in assists (8.0) and steals (2.0) allowed to point guards, giving Lillard some solid paths to big fantasy tallies.
Finally, Curry faces a Spurs team that just gave up 35 points six assists, three rebounds, one steal and one block to Damian Lillard, and Steph comes into the contest with averages of 28.2 points, 6.2 assists, 5.2 rebounds and 1.2 steals across 13 games. He’s had some ups and downs with his production, but he’s already hit or exceeded 30 points on six occasions. San Antonio also comes in ranked in the bottom half of the league with 26.0 points per contest and 48.9 percent shooting allowed to point guards.
