Just a few months ago, the universe commonly accepted that Jake Paul was merely an internet star with over 20 million subscribers on his YouTube channel.

Now, Paul, 24, has fully tapped into the world of boxing, knocking out former NBA player Nate Robinson in a November exhibition bout that immediately went viral.

Jake Paul will take on former MMA fighter Ben Askren on April 17 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta. Read about the odds, lines, betting picks and more.

Jake Paul vs Ben Askren Betting Odds & Picks

(Odds provided by BetMGM)

BetMGM has two different betting options for this fight.

The first option is betting on either fight winner, Paul or Askren, but you can also bet on a tie. The second option is solely picking a fight winner.

Jake Paul (-120)

The favorite in this fight, Paul has proven to be much more than an internet influencer when he steps into the ring. He is 2-0 in his professional fighting career, both results ending by knockout.

Paul, who is 6-foot-1, has a two-inch advantage over Askren. Additionally, his brother and fellow YouTube star, Logan Paul, had a tremendously successful high-school wrestling career and went onto Division I wrestling at Ohio University. Perhaps the brothers could find a way for Logan’s success on the mat to translate with gloves on.

Ben Askren (+100)

It feels unreal that the individual who has made a living off of professional fighting is the underdog against a YouTuber, but here we are.

This will be Askren’s boxing debut after a career in mixed martial arts. The 36-year-old was not particularly known for his striking ability, which could be a problem against Paul, who is developing some serious knockout power.

But Askren has a ton of experience on his side. He wrestled Division I before competing in the 2008 Summer Olympics. After converting from wrestling to MMA, Askren signed a contract with ONE Championship and later joined the UFC in 2018.

Jake Paul vs Ben Askren: My Pick

Jake Paul (-120)

I’m riding with the favorite here. “The Problem Child" could pose a serious threat to Askren, who has never professionally boxed. The 12-year age gap paired with Paul’s knockout power demonstrated in the Robinson fight solidified my selection for this fight.

On the surface, it was enticing to take a former fighter against a YouTube star with plus odds. But, if Paul is taking fighting as seriously as he claims, being the favorite could become a trend in his future fights.
