Jaguars Vikings Bet Tips

Jaguars Vikings Odds and Betting Lines

  • Against The Spread: Vikings -10 (-110)/Jaguars +10 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Vikings (-500)//Jaguars (+370)
  • Total: 52.5 — Over 52.5 (-110)/Under 52.5 (-110)
  • Implied Team Totals: Vikings 31.25, Jaguars 21.25

The Jaguars are trying to win only their second game of the year. They have nothing to play for but a high draft pick. They’ll look to spoil the Vikings’ playoff hopes by stealing a win on the road on Sunday.

The Vikings must win this game to keep their postseason aspirations alive. The Vikings are 4-1 in their past five games, coming off of a one-point victory over the Panthers in Week 12.

Jaguars Vikings Key Injuries

Jaguars

The Jaguars are hurting at wide receiver. Both Chris Conley (hip) and D.J. Chark (ribs) missed last week’s loss to the Browns, but are questionable for Sunday’s tilt at the Vikings.

If Chark and Conley both return, Collin Johnson and Keelan Cole’s recent run of production could come to an end. Johnson led the Jags in receiving in Week 12 with a 4/96/1 line on eight targets.

Vikings

The Vikings’ offense is a little banged up. Dalvin Cook is questionable to play with an ankle injury while TE Irv Smith Jr. is questionable with a groin.

Although Justin Jefferson and Kyle Rudolph played well, stepping up in their position-mates’ absence, Alexander Mattison is the wild card if Cook sits.

However, as of now, Adam Thielen, who missed Week 12, is expected to be activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list in time to play the Jaguars.

For Cook, he is a little knicked-up, but in no danger of missing Week 13 as long as he practices in some capacity.

Jaguars Vikings Players to Watch

Jaguars QB Mike Glennon was named the Week 13 starter. While he did not lead Jacksonville to the win last week, he took the Browns to the wire. Glennon completed 20-of-35 passes for 235 yards with two touchdowns and zero giveaways in the defeat. He is not great, but he’s better than Jake Luton, we think.

Jaguars Vikings Bet Tips: Mike Glennon will be under center for Jacksonville again in Week 13

Glennon will get the Vikings this week, a team that is allowing the 10th most passing yards (2,977) and the second-most touchdown passes to enemy signal-callers. This should be a matchup the veteran can exploit, especially if Minnesota cant get a pass rush going.

As long as James Robinson continues to play well and keeps the Vikings’ defense honest, Glennon should have an easier time picking apart a suspect Vikings secondary. Glennon will get some help if both Chris Conley and D.J. Chark return from their injuries.

Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph is coming off one of his best games of the season. He played well with Irv Smith Jr. sidelined. In fact, Smith has missed two games in recent memory in Week 10 and in Week 12. In both contests, Rudolph had 5+ targets, 4+ receptions, and 63+ yards. Rudolph’s 7/68/0 line on eight targets in last week’s win over Carolina were all season-highs.

While the Jaguars are yielding the seventh-fewest receptions to the tight end postion this season (45), they are allowing the 11th most yards (594) and a league-best nine touchdowns. This should be another solid game for Rudolph, who is currently on an eight-game scoring drought.

Jaguars Vikings Weather Report

The weather at U.S. Bank Stadium will not affect the game because it is a dome.

Jaguars Vikings Bet Tips

BEST BET: Over 52.5 (-110)

The Vikings and Jaguars employ two of the worst defenses in the NFL. The Jags are allowing the third-most points per game (29.5) while the Vikings are surrendering the sixth-most PPG ( 27.7 PPG).

And while the Jacksonville offense struggles at times, this is the right matchup to exploit. Minnesota has had a hard time stopping anyone. Moreover, Mike Glennon looks like the best quarterback to take the field for the Jaguars this year, logging two touchdowns with no giveaways last week. Glennon was effective sans D.J. Chark.

I don’t have to say much about the Vikings’ offense, however. Their core players are explosive. They are also expected to get Thielen back this week as well, which bodes well for the Over.

The Over is 7-0 in seven Vikings home games this season.

The Over is 3-2 in the Jaguars’ past five games.

The Over is 5-1 in the Vikings’ past six games.

The Over is 8-1 in the Vikings’ 11 games played this season.

CONSIDER: Jaguars +10 (-110)

While the Vikings should dominate this game, the Jaguars have been playing better of late. The Jaguars have lost by fewer than 10 points in four of their past five games, including three games by fewer than four points.

The Jaguars are 3-1 against the spread in their past four games.

The Vikings are 3-2 ATS in their past five games but failed to cover in each of their past two.

The Jags are 5-6 ATS in 11 games this season while the Vikings are 6-5.

PASS: Jaguars (+370)

I am passing on the Jaguars Moneyline. While they have been keeping their games close this past month, the Vikings will be too much for them. This game is also on the road. Find a better spot to wager your money. The Jaguars have lost 10 straight games after winning the season opener over the Colts, which gave fans false hope. What a collapse.
