Football Team Steelers Bet Tips

Football Team Steelers Odds and Betting Lines

  • Against The Spread: Steelers -8.5 (-110)/Football Team +8.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Steelers (-420)/ Football Team (+320)
  • Total: 43.5 — Over 43.5 (-110)/Under 43.5 (-110)
  • Implied Team Totals: Steelers 27, Football Team 16.5

The Football Team has won three of their past five games, including two straight with Alex Smith under center. They will look to be the first team to knock-off the undefeated Steelers this season, who sit at a perfect 11-0.

While the Steelers nearly have the AFC North locked-up, Washington needs the victory to maintain control of the NFC East. They are currently tied with the Giants with New York owning the head-to-head tiebreaker.

Football Team Steelers Key Injuries

Football Team

Washington is not dealing with any new significant injuries.

Steelers

Last week, Steelers RB James Conner tested positive for COVID-19. As a result, he was placed on the reserve/ COVID-19 list, forcing him to miss Wednesday night’s win over the Ravens. While Conner has a shot to be activated for Monday’s game against Washington, nothing is certain.

If Conner misses his second straight game, Benny Snell will handle the bulk of the running back duties. Snell rushed for 60 yards on 16 carries while adding another 33 yards on 3-of-5 targets in Wednesday’s win over Baltimore.

Football Team Steelers Players to Watch

Football Team RB Antonio Gibson blew up on Thanksgiving. No, not on his dinner. He feasted on the Cowboys. Gibson ran for 115 yards and three touchdowns on 20 carries while adding another 21 yards on 5-of-7 targets.

While Gibson had a monster game, it wasn’t the first time he blew up in recent history. Since Week 7, Gibson scored a touchdown in five straight games, totaling eight scores in that time period.

He’s also totaled 100+ yards three times in that span and four times in his past eight games.

Steelers TE Eric Ebron has been flying under the radar this season, playing on a team with a slew of pass-catching weapons at receiver. While he isn’t going off, he’s been a reliable receiver for Ben Roethlisberger in the middle of the field who can also move the chains and create mismatches in the red zone.

In four of his past five games, Ebron has either logged five receptions for 60 yards or a touchdown. He’s also seen five targets in each of his past five games and eight times this season in 11 games.

Ebron is in line for another quality outing in which he could find the end zone. While the Football Team’s defense shuts down the passing attack, allowing the second-fewest passing yards per game (194.6), they can be exploited by the tight end.

The Football Team is giving up the 14th most receptions, the 19th most yards (539), and the fourth most touchdowns (6) to enemy tight ends this season. That is the weak point of their pass defense.

Football Team Steelers Weather Report

The weather at Heinz Field calls for an overcast afternoon at the time of kickoff with a 0% precipitation probability.

The temperature is forecast at 31 degrees Fahrenheit with 6 mph winds blowing West.

Football Team Steelers Bet Tips

BEST BET: Under 43.5 (-110)

This game could be extremely slow-paced, considering how the Steelers and the Football Team play football. While the Steelers have better skill-position players and the better quarterback, they both can run the football and play smothering defense.

The Steelers’ defense is allowing the fewest points per game (17.1) this season.

The Football Team’s defense is allowing the seventh-fewest PPG (22.1) this season.

The Under is 5-2 in the Football Team’s past seven games, but their totals have gone Over in two of their past three.

The Under is 4-1-2 in the Steelers’ past seven games. The total has gone Under or pushed in each of their past four games.

The total has gone Under in two of the past three meetings between the Steelers and the Football Team.

The total has gone Under or pushed in each of the past three Steelers’ home games.

CONSIDER: Football Team +8.5 (-110)

Washington’s defense will keep this game close. Even a beat-up Ravens team was able to tread water and stay in the game in last Wednesday’s NFL matinee.

If James Conner doesn’t play, the Football Team’s secondary plays well enough to contain Pittsburgh’s pass-catching weapons while slowing down Benny Snell. Snell is a capable back but he is not the talent that a healthy Conner is.

With Alex Smith under center, not only is he 2-0 in both starts but he is smart with the football and won’t turn it over a lot. He only has two total giveaways in each of his past two games, which isn’t too bad considering what he has to work with outside of Terry McLaurin and Antonio Gibson.

The Football Team is 5-3 against the spread in its past eight games but covered in each of their past two.

The Steelers are 2-2 ATS in their past four games, failing to cover in last week’s win over Baltimore.

Consider: Football Team (+320)

While I believe the Steelers will win this game, I think the Football Team will cover, which means it will be close. The Steelers are 11-0 and are coming off of a win against the Ravens in which they should have dominated.

The Ravens were without the reigning league MVP quarterback, their top two tight ends including one who is considered in the conversation as one of the league’s best, two running backs, and other pieces on both ends of the football. The Steelers also nearly lost to Dallas a few weeks back. They have kinks.

This could be a letdown game for the Steelers. Both teams match up well, especially if James Conner doesn’t play, which will weaken Pittsburgh’s rushing attack and potentially make the offense one-dimensional.

It is a longshot, but the odds are terrific and the Football Team is one of the big road underdogs of the week that can pull off the upset.
