Football Team Cowboys Bet Tips

Football Team Cowboys Odds and Betting Lines

  • Against The Spread: Cowboys -3 (-110)/Football Team +3 (-110)
  • Moneyline: Cowboys (-160)/Football Team (+135)
  • Total: 46.5 — Over 46.5 (-110)/Under 46.5 (-110)
  • Implied Team Totals: Cowboys 24.75, Football Team 21.75

The Football Team is 2-3 in their past five games and coming off of an 11-point victory last week over the Bengals. Sitting at 3-7 with the NFC East up for grabs, Washington will look to gain a game in the division facing a Cowboys team that snapped a four-game losing streak in last Sunday’s impressive win over the then, red-hot Vikings.

The Cowboys are also looking to avoid getting swept by the Football Team, who defeated them back in Week 7.

Football Team Cowboys Players to Watch

Washington WR Terry McLaurin is set up for a monster game. Hands-down the best player on the Football Team’s offense, McLaurin is having an incredible second season as a pro, considering his situation at QB (Dwayne Haskins, Kyle Allen, Alex Smith).

While McLaurin has not scored since Week 9, he has had at least 7 targets, 5 receptions, and 84 yards in the two games since.

McLaurin has had 83+ receiving yards in 7-of-10 games this season, including in each of his past five games. He will look to maintain that streak on Thursday against the Cowboys.

In his last meeting with Dallas back in Week 7, McLaurin went for a 7/90/1 stat line on 11 targets. In his only other career matchup with the Cowboys, McLaurin accumulated a 5/62/1 line. He’s scored in both games played against them in the past two seasons.

While the Dallas defense has played better of late, they remain one of the worst teams defending the pass. And although the Cowboys are only giving up the 14th fewest passing yards per game (232.6), they’ve surrendered a league-high 19 touchdowns to enemy wideouts.

Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb’s stock took a hit when Dak Prescott was lost for the season with his ankle injury, but the stud rookie wideout has not exactly fizzed playing with three different quarterbacks since (Ben DiNucci, Garrett Gilbert, Andy Dalton).

In the past five games sans Prescott, Lamb has caught seven receptions for 64 yards or a touchdown in three of them. Lamb has now found the end zone in back-to-back games.

While the mateship with the Football Team is not the greatest, Lamb is talented enough to overcome the situation. He is also looking to bounce back from his last meeting with Washington back in Week 7 in which Lamb blanked on five targets.

It all wasn’t on Lamb, however. That was the game Dalton was knocked out by a cheap shot from Jon Bostic and the Cowboys offense fully imploded. Hell, the whole team gave up that afternoon.

Washington’s defense is allowing the fewest passing yards per game this season (195.4) with the fourth-fewest touchdowns (6).

Football Team Cowboys Bet Tips

BEST BET: Cowboys -3 (-110)

With QB Andy Dalton and all-world OL Zack Martin both in the lineup, the Cowboys’ offense is much more competent. In last week’s win over the Vikings, Dalton’s first game back from the COVID list, the veteran signal-caller completed 22-of-32 passes for 203 yards, three touchdowns, and one pick.

If Dalton has a similar outing this week, albeit, against a much-better defense, Dallas should control this game and win.

With Dalton flowing, Ezekiel Elliott also had his best game of the season. He posted 114 total yards and a touchdown on 23 touches. Elliott also logged his first game with 100+ rushing yards this season.

Elliott’s touches and total yards last week were his most in either category in five games without Prescott in the lineup. He also snapped a four-game scoring drought in the win.

Washington is also playing better with Alex Smith under center, but picking up a win and a season sweep in Dallas while playing on Thanksgiving is not an easy feat.

If Dallas’ pass rush can get going — it has been better of late, Smith could be in trouble. Smith has a 2:4 TD/INT ratio in each of the past three games.

The home team is 5-1 against the spread (ATS) in the last six meetings between Dallas and Washington. In this case, Dallas is the home team.

The Football Team is 2-5 ATS in their last 7 meetings with the Cowboys.

Dallas is 2-3 ATS in their past five games, but have covered in two straight.

CONSIDER: Over 46.5 (-110)

In last week’s win over the Vikings, the Cowboys looked more like the team led by Dak Prescott than what they have pout on the field since his injury.

For whatever reason, their defense has bought in and the team as a whole is getting healthier. If Dallas can continue playing as they did against Minnesota, they will score points.

The same goes for Washington. While they don’t have the weapons that the Cowboys have, they aren’t exactly bare-bones in the skill position department. And while the Dallas defense has been trending in the right direction, they still are what they are under Mike Nolan.

The Under is 5-1 in Washington’s past six games.

The Under is 4-1 in Dallas’ past five games.

Despite the Under trends shown above, the Over is 8-2 in the last 10 meetings between Dallas and Washington.

PASS: Cowboys (-160)

I am passing on the Moneyline on either side. This game can go in either direction as we don’t know which team will show up on either end. While I favor the Cowboys, they are not a lock to beat Washington, especially in 2020.
