Eagles Giants Players to Watch

Eagles QB Carson Wentz is the key to the Eagles making a run to the postseason. However, it hasnt been easy for the former No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft this season.

While Wentz has led the Eagles to a 3-5-1 record, he’s been a statistical mess. Although he’s had to contend with injures along the offensive line and amongst his talented arsenal of weapons, things could be a lot worse.

Currently, Wentz is the No. 5 quarterback in average depth of target (9.7) while being sacked a league-high 32 times.

In his last meeting with the Giants way back in Week 7, Wentz not only picked up the victory for the Eagles, but he also logged his first and only game with 300 passing yards (359).

Wentz also passed for two scores with an interception while adding another 14 rushing yards and his third total touchdown in the win. It was one of two games this season in which Wentz recorded three total scores.

Wentz has thrown for at least 325 yards and two touchdowns in two of his past three games against the Giants.

Wentz is 7-1 in his career against New York while winning seven consecutive games.

Giants RB Wayne Gallman is hot of late.

While the Giants signed Devonta Freeman to be the immediate replacement for Saquon Barkley following his season-ending knee injury, the veteran rusher has not only failed to produce, but he is also injured.

Freeman missed last week’s win over Washington and is currently questionable entering Sunday’s bout with Philadelphia.

Whether or not Freeman is active, Gallman has earned himself additional touches.

Freeman left Week 7’s meeting against the Eagles with his ankle injury, which triggered Gallman’s slightly above average emergence. In the aforementioned matchup, Gallman totaled 54 yards and a touchdown on a season-high 15 touches (five receptions).

In the next two games in which Gallman was the featured running back, he totaled at least 62 yards and a touchdown while getting a minimum of 13 touches, including one reception in each.

Gallman has totaled at least 54 yards and a score in each of his past three games and must maintain his current streak to keep the Eagles’ defense honest so Daniel Jones and go-to work passing.

Eagles Giants Weather Report

The weather at Met Life Stadium calls for a clear afternoon at the time of kickoff with a 0% chance of precipitation.

The temperature is forecast for 56 degrees Fahrenheit with 7 mph winds blowing South.

Eagles Giants Bet Tips

BEST BET: Eagles Moneyline (-180)

While the Giants are hot, coming off their best four-game stretch in recent memory, the Eagles are getting healthier and have had their best luck against New York in the Carson Wentz era.

The Eagles are 9-1 against the Giants in their past 10 meetings and have not lost to them since November 6, 2016.

In their last meeting back in Week 7, the Eagles failed to cover the spread but won the game over New York 22-21.

The Eagles are 3-5 against the spread this season in eight games but are 3-2 in their past five games.

The Eagles have also won three of their past five games outright.

CONSIDER: Eagles -3 (-125)

The road team is 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings between the Eagles and Giants. In this case, the Eagles are the road favorite.

While the Eagles are 2-5 ATS in their last seven matchups, they are 10-3 ATS in their last five meetings in New York.

Only two of the past five meetings between these two teams have been decided by fewer than three points, including the last matchup in Week 7.

Pass: Over 44.5 (-110)

Philadelphia is averaging the 24th-most PPG (23.2) this season while surrendering the 18th-fewest PPG (25.6).

The Giants are averaging the second-fewest PPG (18.7) this season while allowing the 13th-most PPG (24.3).

The Over is 10-1 in the last 11 matchups in New York between the Eagles and Giants.

The Over is 4-0 in Philadelphia’s last four games as a road favorite.

I am fading both the Over and Under in this matchup. Both teams are too inconsistent on either side of the football to project.

Despite the fact that the Eagles will be as healthy as they have been all season long on Sunday, Carson Wentz is the determining factor. He has played well when it matters most but struggles more times than not.
