Eagles Cardinals Bet Tips

Odds & Betting Lines for Eagles-Cardinals picks

  • Against The Spread: Cardinals -6 (-115)/Eagles +6 (-105)
  • Moneyline: Cardinals (-281)/Eagles (+220)
  • Total: 49.5 — Over 49.5 (-110)/Under 49.5 (-110)
  • Implied Team Totals: Cardinals 27.75, Eagles 21.75

The Eagles are barely holding on in the race to win the NFC East with the Washington Football Team in control of their own destiny. Amidst a quarterback change from Carson Wentz to Jalen Hurts, the Eagles snapped a four-game losing streak last week with their improbable victory over the Saints.

They will look to keep it going on Sunday facing a Cardinals club who may be out of the running for the NFC West, but have Wild Card hopes in sight. The Cardinals snapped a three-game losing streak with last week’s win over the Giants.

Eagles-Cardinals Key Injuries

Eagles

The Eagles will enter Sunday’s matchup versus the Cardinals with a banged-secondary. CB Darius Slay (concussion), CB Avonte Maddox (knee), S Rodney McLeod (knee, IR), S Rudy Ford (hamstring), DB Grayland Arnold (hamstring), and DB Michael Jacquet III (hamstring) are all on the injury report ahead of Week 15’s game in Arizona.

From what we know now, McLeod and Maddox are both out — McLeod is on the injured reserve list while Maddox is out indefinitely. The others are all questionable to play this week. We could be looking at a make-shift Eagles secondary, which bodes well for Kyler Murray and company on Sunday.

Cardinals

Cardinals K Zane Gonzalez missed last week’s win over the Giants with a back injury. With Gonzalez sidelined, longtime NFL veteran Mike Nugent was promoted from the practice squad. He made all four of his field-goal tries and both of his extra-point attempts.

While kicking changes normally can hurt a team, especially when you are wagering the total or the spread, it doesn’t seem like this one will make a difference if Gonzalez misses a second straight game.

Eagles-Cardinals Players to Watch

Eagles RB Miles Sanders finally got on track last week. Running a different offense with Jalen Hurts under center — we saw the read-option amidst the quarterback shift and it was successful — Sanders was cut loose, accounting for his best game of the year.

Sanders racked up a season-high 136 total yards and two touchdowns. With his 115 rushing yards, Sanders became the first player to rush for 100+ yards on the Saints since Samaje Perine did it in 2017. Hurts also rushed for 100+ yards on them.

Sanders has only amassed 100+ total yards in 4-of-10 games this season. His 100+ in Week 14 snapped a four-game streak with fewer than 100 total yards. Sanders also ended a five-game scoreless streak with his pair of Week 14 touchdowns.

Sanders gets a Cardinals defense allowing the 15th most rushing yards per game (119.5) this season.

Cardinals TE Dan Arnold has quietly made an impact of late. In four games since Week 10, the converted wideout has scored in three of them and four total touchdowns in that time period. Arnold has scored in back-to-back games, three times total since Week 13.

Eagles Cardinals Bet Tips and Eagles-Cardinals picks for NFL Week 15: Dan Arnold has helped open up the Arizona offense

While Arnold is being used in money situations, he is hardly being utilized anywhere else. Arnold has yet to receive more than four targets in a single game this season, a feat he’s only accomplished in 4-of-13 outings.

Amidst his late-season push, Arnold has drawn 3+ targets in four of his past five games, including two outings with four.

The Eagles are allowing the fourth-most touchdowns (8) to tight ends this season, which plays right into Arnold’s hands.

Eagles-Cardinals Picks & Best Bet

BEST BET: Cardinals -6 (+115)

While the Cardinals snapped a three-game losing streak in last week’s win over the Giants, they did not just win the game, they were hands-down the superior team. Let’s not forget that the Giants were riding a four-game winning streak prior to Week 14’s loss to Arizona, including an Upset Special victory over Seattle on the road.

While the Giants were not an easy out, the Cardinals made it look that way en route to their punishing 26-7 victory.

Although Kyler Murray, Kenyan Drake, and DeAndre Hopkins did what it took on offense, the story of the game was Arizona’s defense. Quietly, the Cardinals’ defense held the Giants to 159 total yards and seven points while sacking Daniel Jones and Colt McCoy a combined eight times, forcing five fumbles and recovering three of them.

I know the Eagles had their way with the Saints’ smothering defense last week, but now they have to go on the road and travel West. The Cardinals also have a game’s worth of film to go off of to gameplan against Jalen Hurts, which is not much but is more than what New Orleans had.

With the Eagles’ defense all sorts of knicked-up, especially in their secondary, look for the Cardinals’ offense to get back on track and drop 30 on Philly.

The Cardinals are 4-6 against the spread in their past 10 games, covering last week, which snapped a five-game slide failing to cover.

The Eagles are 2-3 ATS in their past five games, covering in two of their past three including last week.

The Cardinals are 6-2 ATS in their past eight meetings with the Eagles, failing to cover in their last matchup back in 2017.

CONSIDER: Under 49.5 (-110)

Both of these teams have been hot and heavy with the Under of late.

The Under is 7-3 in the Eagles’ past 10 games, going Over last week following six consecutive outings hitting the Under.

The Under is 3-1 in the Cardinals’ past four games.

The Under is 5-3 in the past eight meetings between the Eagles and Cardinals, hitting in their last matchup back in 2017.

While the Eagles scored 24 points last week, that ended a four-game streak scoring fewer than 17 points. Those 24 points were Philly’s highest total since the Eagles scored 28 back in Week 6 against the Ravens.

Consider: Eagles (+220)

While I like the Cardinals to win outright and cover the spread, this is one of those games in which the “any given Sunday" narrative comes into play.

The Eagles played well and shocked the Saints last week with Jalen Hurts and Miles Sanders leading the way on offense. If they can gain momentum from last week’s victory, the Eagles can go on the road and knock-off the Cardinals, a team that is 2-4 in their past six games, finally snapping a three-game losing streak with last week’s win over the Giants.

This one is not for me, but I understand why you would wager the Eagles Moneyline.
