The No. 8 Michigan Wolverines will hit the road to face the unranked Maryland Terrapins in this Week 12 college football matchup.
Michigan (9-1) has been absolutely excellent this season and is firmly ranked as one of the best teams in all of college football. Their lone loss came on the road against their biggest rival in Michigan State, but they have beaten every team they ‘should have’ this season.
Maryland (5-5) has not had the season some expected after the Terrapins were pegged as a potential surprise team. The Terrapins have won just one of their last six games, albeit against some of college football’s best teams. Their most recent loss came at the same Michigan State squad that defeated Michigan a few weeks ago.
Can the Terrapins pull off the cover with the spread sitting at Michigan -15, or will the Wolverines take care of business on the road as the far better team?

Michigan vs. Maryland Prediction
I don’t see this game being particularly close whatsoever.
Maryland has been outscored by exactly 100 points over their last five games, giving up over 40 points per game in the process. While I do not trust Michigan’s offense entirely, Minnesota’s defensive liability eases me and my reservations.
Expect a three-possession victory for Michigan or more in this one.
Prediction: Michigan 39, Maryland 20

Best Bet: Michigan -15 (-110) at Caesars

I’m taking Michigan ATS here as an easy one for our CFB pick of the day. However, I think it is VERY important that you buy off the hook or buy a full point to get to a more favorable 13.5 or 14 number. Don’t lose by the hook.
Michigan is just flat out the better team. There’s no arguing otherwise.
While the Wolverines have not been dismantling teams like the other top-10 ranked teams have, the Maryland Terrapins have been atrocious the past five weeks, and I don’t expect that to stop against a very solid Michigan defense.
Best Bet: Over 56.5 Total Points (-110) at Caesars

By my final score prediction, I don’t believe this game hits the over by much. I think there is little margin for error on this one, considering that Maryland will likely have to score 20+ points to keep this over alive.
Michigan can score 40 or so by themselves, especially against an awful Maryland defense, but asking Maryland to pick up the slack is a tall task.
Regardless, I’m backing the over 56.5 total points here for a unit given the relatively low total for a college football game.
