Broncos-Falcons Players to Watch
DEN QB Drew Lock pulled off a miracle comeback last week in the Broncos’ 31-30 win over the Chargers, going 26-for-41 for 248 yards and three passing TDs. He faces a Falcons defense that has allowed opposing QBs to throw for at least 300 passing yards in seven of eight games.
Lock should have a quality contest along with his top pass catchers: WR Jerry Jeudy and TE Noah Fant. Jeudy leads Denver in targets (47) and receiving yards (359( while Fant isn’t far behind with 43 targets and 304 receiving yards of his own.
ATL WR Julio Jones led the way on Thursday night, racking up 137 receiving yards on 7 catches. This was the WR’s third straight game with at least 97 yards and 7 receptions. It should be more of the same come Sunday, facing a Broncos’ secondary that just allowed a combined 14 catches, 166 yards and 2 TDs to the Chargers’ top two wideouts in Week 8.
This should also be good news for QB Matt Ryan, who broke a streak of back-to-back 300-yard passing games with the 281 yards he put up against the Panthers last Thursday night. Ryan has also completed at least 70% of his passes in each of the Falcons’ last three games. Expect another big game from Matty Ice at home on Sunday, even if Calvin Ridley’s injury forces him to miss Week 9.
Broncos-Falcons Weather Report
Mercedes-Benz Stadium is a dome, so there is no weather impact on the Week 8 Broncos-Falcons game.
Broncos Falcons Bet Tips
BEST BET: Falcons (-200)
The Falcons were the best 1-6 team in the NFL before their win last Thursday night and now they’re the best 2-6 team in the league. With the rest advantage, the Falcons are 11-3 straight up and 9-5 ATS since 2015.
On the other side, the Broncos are 1-2 straight up and 2-1 ATS with the rest disadvantage over the past season and a half (with Drew Lock on the team), which simply doesn’t swing me one way or another.
I expect the Falcons to ride their momentum to back-to-back wins as well as their first home victory of 2020 come Sunday.

CONSIDER: Broncos +4 (-110)
While I like the Falcons to win this one straight up, I expect it to be a one score game. The Broncos have covered the spread in seven of 10 games as a road dog since the start of the 2019 season while the Falcons are 2-6 ATS in the same time span as the home favorite. This all says to consider Denver plus the points.
PASS: Over/Under 50 (-110)
Denver has hit the over four times in seven games while the Falcons have gone of the total in half of their eight contests. I’d lay off this number as I could easily see a 27-23 game.
