Bears-Jaguars Key Injuries
Bears
Cordarrelle Patterson is listed as questionable with a knee injury, something that could affect the Bears’ special teams unit. He leads the league in kick return yards (942) and has also been splitting time at RB and WR late in the season. If Patterson is forced to miss the game, we could see Darnell Mooney or Anthony Miller returning kicks in a must-win game for the Bears.
Jaguars
James Robinson is questionable with an ankle injury and looks to be in real danger of missing this contest. The undrafted rookie already has 1,070 rush yards, 344 receiving yards and 10 total TDs in 13 games. Dare Ogunbowale would start if Robinson is sidelined.
Bears Jaguars Players to Watch
CHI RB David Montgomery has finally lived up the hype over the past four weeks. Since the Bears’ Week 11 bye, the back has racked up three 100-yard games and five rushing TDs. Facing a Jaguars D that has allowed more than 100 rush yards and five TDs to backs in each of its last five games, and more than 200 twice during that span, expect D Mont to have a massive game again Sunday.
JAX QB Gardner Minshew II is likely auditioning for a job with another team, now that the Jaguars are in position for the No. 1 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Minshew is a better fantasy QB than he is a real one, racking up at least two passing TDs in six of the nine games he’s appeared in this season. He could have another nice game, facing a Bears D that has allowed at least two passing TDs in seven of its last eight. It wouldn’t be surprising if Minshew nabs another two, with at least one coming in garbage time.
Bears-Jaguars Weather Report
The weather forecast at TIAA Bank Field calls for sunny skies and high of 61 degrees Fahrenheit. There is a 5% chance of rain and wind gusts of up to 8 mph expected.
Bears-Jaguars Picks & Best Bet
BEST BET: Bears -7.5 (-105)
The Jaguars are seemingly trying to lose, and the Bears have won two in a row with Mitchell Trubisky as their starting QB. It’s a must-win game for Chicago if the team from the Windy City wants to stay in the playoff race. And when one team has something to play for, and the other has zero motivation, give me the fave minus the points.

CONSIDER: Under 47 (-110)
That being said, I don’t see lots of points being put on the board Sunday. The Trubisky-led Bears have been very predictable since he took back over the starting role, averaging 31.0 PPG, and scoring between 25 and 36 in those four contests. I simply don’t see the the Jags doing their part and scoring three times with their best player and starting RB in Robinson banged up.
PASS: Jaguars (+290)
Now that the Jaguars are in the driver’s seat for the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft — a selection that will undoubtedly be Trevor Lawrence — there’s close to no chance they win this Sunday.
