NHL Bets of the Day 11/01/21
Best Bet: Lightning Moneyline (-145) at BetMGM
The two-time defending Stanley Cup champions are off to a bit of a slow start by their standards with a 4-3-1 record to this point. However, they have really turned it on of late, winning each of their last two games by a 5-1 scoreline.
The Lightning have a tough task on Monday when they host a Washington Capitals team that has yet to lose in regulation, starting the season 5-0-3.
Washington will be without Nicklas Backstrom and T.J. Oshie for this game, while Tampa Bay is missing Nikita Kucherov and Zach Bogosian.
The Lightning have the superior depth that should help them overcome Kucherov’s absence. We also have to consider that Tampa Bay has had three full days of rest coming into this game, while Washington has only had two.
We’re getting one of the best teams in the NHL at an affordable price as home favorites.

Best Bet: Senators Moneyline (+105)
The Senators came into the season as everyone’s favorite sleeper team with a young, talented core consisting of Brady Tkachuk, Thomas Chabot, Drake Batherson, and Tim Stutzle.
While the Senators have gotten off to a slow start (3-4-0), they are coming off an impressive 4-1 win over the Dallas Stars to kick off this three-game road trip.
Ottawa now takes on a Chicago Blackhawks team that has been among the worst in the NHL this season and is one of two winless teams in the NHL. Chicago (0-7-2) has allowed four or more goals in seven of its opening nine games.
You have to love getting the better team at plus money in this spot.
Best Bet: Oilers -1.5 (+100)
The Oilers have gotten off to a strong start this season, winning six of their first seven games. They’ve outscored opponents 17-14 in their four home games this season.
That works out to an impressive 4.25 goals per game. Connor McDavid and company are tough to stop, especially on home ice.
Edmonton takes on a Seattle Kraken team that has given up four or more goals in four of its nine games this season. At 3-5-1, this expansion team is playing to its expectations as one of the worst teams in the NHL.
To make matters worse, this is the second of a back-to-back for Seattle. It’s going to be tough for them to keep up with this high-flying Oilers’ offense.
