2021 NHL Parlay Predictions & Best Bets October 22 | Hockey Play of the Day 10/22/21

Last Updated: Oct 22, 2021

Friday night’s slate of NHL action is on the short end with just four games, but we have you covered.

There is a lot of value to be had despite having such a small amount of games available for parlays. After a rocky couple days in the NHL, we hit our +487 odds parlay yesterday thanks to the Flames, Hurricanes, and Panthers all winning on the moneyline.

Let’s take a look at three of my favorite parlay pieces that you should be adding to your betting cards.

All odds and lines are courtesy of DraftKings and are current as of 12 PM ET on Friday, October 22.

Edmonton Oilers +1.5 (-200)

I considered backing the Oilers on the moneyline — they currently stand at +120 odds on DraftKings — but I think a safer play for a parlay is to take them against the spread. The Golden Knights have looked underwhelming to start the season with goalie Robin Lehner looking like a far cry from Marc-Andre Fleury. Vegas has suffered two consecutive losses to the Blues and Kings after narrowly eking past the Seattle Kraken on opening night.

Back Connor McDavid‘s Oilers to put points on the board and exploit Robin Lehner.

San Jose Sharks +1.5 (-130) at DraftKings

Most people who fade the Sharks because they are coming off of the first game of a tough back-to-back, but I find value here on the spread. Not only has San Jose played on back-to-back nights, they have also played three games in four nights including tonight. The Toronto Maple Leafs are an excellent squad, but I believe in San Jose staying in the fight if they can control the pace of the game to any degree.

The Sharks have taken care of business to start the season, notching victories over the Jets, Canadiens, and Senators. Toronto will be their toughest draw considering they will not be on their home ice, they will be playing a Maple Leafs unit coming off of a three-day rest period, and because Toronto has Auston Matthews back in action.

Still, I’m backing the Sharks ATS because I think this game will be close either way.

Buffalo Sabres +1.5 (-150)

I’m very fond of the way the Sabres look to start the season and firmly believe they are better than most evaluators believed. They have started the season with a 2-0-1 record, including an overtime win over the Coyotes. Simply put, they have won all the games they should have to this point, hammering the Canucks and Canadiens by scoring five goals in each game.

The Bruins have not looked like themselves without tenured goalie Tuukka Rask, but there has been some hope for them in the form of rookie Jeremy Swayman. Swayman had an impressive debut only allowing one goal to the Dallas Stars, but his net presence was non-existent against the Flyers who scored five goals on just 24 chances against him.

Back the Sabres to take care of a rookie goalie with their offense seemingly firing on all cylinders at the moment.
