The Arizona Cardinals (7-1) take on the San Francisco 49ers (3-4) in an NFC West divisional matchup in Week 9.

The Cards are in tough shape because they could be without star quarterback Kyler Murray (ankle) and stud wideout DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring), as both did not practice all week and are game-time decisions. Wide receiver A.J. Green is on the COVID-19 list and is also likely out.

That leaves veteran Colt McCoy as the presumptive starting quarterback. McCoy started two games last year, combining for 326 yards (6.15 Y/A) with one touchdown and one interception. He’ll likely function as the game manager with Arizona leaning on its defense and running game.

The 49ers have gotten their running game going in the last two weeks, as running back Elijah Mitchell has combined for 244 rushing yards on 36 carries.

They’ll also be getting star tight end George Kittle back in the lineup. Kittle has been out since Week 4 and adds another dimension to this offense.

The 49ers are the much healthier team in this game, making it a good spot for a big home win against a division rival.

Let’s dive in to find the best Cardinals vs 49ers prop bets.

Cardinals vs 49ers Prop Bets: NFL Week 9 Prop Betting Picks

Team Total: Arizona Cardinals Under 21.5 Points (-115) at WynnBET

The Cardinals’ offense will change completely with Colt McCoy under center. Expect a lot of check downs to running back Chase Edmonds and wide receiver Rondale Moore. McCoy will be tasked with managing the game to keep it close in a tough one on the road.

I don’t think we’ll see a lot of explosive plays out of this offense in this spot. With the 49ers ranking 22nd in pass DVOA, they should be able to do enough on defense to slow down McCoy.

You also have to consider that the 49ers should be able to run the ball effectively against a Cardinals defense allowing 4.71 yards per carry to opposing running backs. This would keep Arizona’s offense off the field and limit its scoring opportunities.

The Under on Arizona’s team total looks like a strong play in this spot.

Game Total: Cardinals/49ers Under 45.5 Points (-110) at WynnBET

It’s a good idea to add the game total here as well because the Cardinals defense has been one of the best units in the NFL, ranking 2nd in pass DVOA and 9th in rush DVOA.

Both of these teams are likely to lean on their running game in this one, which makes the Under a more likely outcome. Colt McCoy loves to check it down, which limits big plays and aligns nicely with the Under as well.

We could also see Arizona’s defense step up even more with their starting quarterback out of the lineup. We’ve seen this happen in the past, just look at the New Orleans Saints with Trevor Siemian last week, knocking off the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

However, I think this game looks like a low-scoring win for San Francisco.

Alternate Spread: 49ers -3.5 (+215) at WynnBET

The 49ers are currently favored by 2.5 points, but I think we can shed a point for some strong value here. San Francisco gets George Kittle back in the lineup, which should really help its efficiency on offense.

Colt McCoy is a significant downgrade from Kyler Murray at quarterback. There’s a decent chance that this point spread moves towards the 49ers as we get closer to game time.

That’s why it’s a great idea to make this bet right now. At +215 odds, you’re getting phenomenal value on a 49ers team that is better than its 3-4 record suggests.

The 49ers should be able to control this game with their running game. It wouldn’t surprise me to see them win by double-digits, but all we need is a four-point win in order for this bet to hit.

Take the team that isn’t missing its two best players on offense. Roll with the 49ers here.
