Cardinals vs Browns Week 6 Prop Bets: Kyler Murray, Baker Mayfield & More

Last Updated: Oct 15, 2021

Week 6 features an intriguing showdown between two playoff contenders from opposite conferences, as the 5-0 Arizona Cardinals will look to continue their perfect start to the season against the 3-2 Cleveland Browns on Sunday afternoon.

Arizona took care of their NFC West rivals in Week 5 with a 17-10 victory over the San Francisco 49ers, while Cleveland fell just short in a 47-42 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Both teams are playing well as of late, with just one combined loss since Week 1.

There’s no shortage of betting opportunities in this matchup, so let’s check out some Cardinals vs. Browns prop bets that could prove to be profitable in our NFL prop predictions and picks series.

Please note that all NFL Week 6 odds and lines are current as of 6 PM EST on Friday, October 15.

Cardinals vs. Browns Prop Bets: NFL Week 6 Prop Betting Picks

Kyler Murray Over 258.5 Passing Yards (-115) at BetMGM

The Cardinals’ offense had their lowest total of points scored and passing yards accumulated in Week 5 against the 49ers. However, Kyler Murray has thrown for over 258 yards in four out of five games this season.

For that, Murray should easily eclipse this total against a Browns defense that surrendered 398 passing yards and four touchdowns to Justin Herbert last Sunday.

While the Browns have only given up over 250 yards through the air twice in five games, they have yet to prove they can contain a talented passer of Murray’s caliber.

Given Kliff Kingsbury’s pass-happy style on offense, you can expect Murray to have plenty of big-play opportunities through the air versus the Browns, making this our NFL bet of the day.

Baker Mayfield Over 237.5 Passing Yards (-110) at BetMGM

Based on the way this season has gone through the first five weeks, the Cardinals have allowed over 233 passing yards twice, and Baker Mayfield has eclipsed this total three times.

But the better the opponent, the more Mayfield seems to rise to the occasion as a passer. Two prime examples came in the Browns’ matchups with the Kansas City Chiefs and the Los Angeles Chargers, where Mayfield completed a combined 44-of-60 passes for 626 total yards across two games.

For that, it’s fair to expect there to be a significant amount of passes being thrown on both ends with these two high-powered offenses set to go head-to-head. That’s why I like Mayfield to throw for over 237.5 yards against the Cardinals.

DeAndre Hopkins Over 70.5 Receiving Yards (-115) at DraftKings

If Murray throws for over 258 yards, you can expect DeAndre Hopkins to have a big day on the receiving end.

Although Hopkins has yet to record a 100-yard game this season, he had six catches for 87 yards and a touchdown against the 49ers, despite Murray having his lowest passing totals of the year.

Hopkins has been one of the best receivers in the NFL since entering the league in 2013, and his first reception on Sunday was the 770th of his career. This made Hopkins the fastest receiver in league history to achieve this mark before his 30th birthday, breaking Larry Fitzgerald‘s previous record of 764 receptions.

After last week’s showing, Hopkins appears to be breaking out, and that’s why I like him to post another impressive stat line against the Browns this week.

Cardinals vs. Browns Week 6 Prop Bets

Both Teams to Score 23.5+ Points: Cardinals (+100), Browns (-190) at BetMGM

Although Arizona’s offense is surrounded by plenty of hype, Cleveland is actually ranked one spot ahead of them as the fifth-best unit in the NFL. While the Cardinals only scored 17 points against the 49ers in Week 5, they are averaging 31.4 points a game on the season.

As for the Browns, they may rank ahead of the Cardinals in yardage, but they are actually behind Arizona with 28.4 points per week, which is still more than respectable.

Cleveland is a team that relies on its running game behind tailbacks Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. However, Baker Mayfield had his best game of the season against the Chargers, going 23-of-32 with 302 passing yards and two touchdowns. Tight end David Njoku also had a career day with seven catches for 149 yards and one touchdown last week.

Despite Arizona being held under 20 points last week for the first time all season, their offense should bounce back against the Browns, who gave up 47 points to the Chargers last Sunday.
