Darren Waller 2021 Fantasy Football Outlook
Darren Waller has undoubtedly cemented his spot as an elite tight end in the NFL, exceeding 100 targets and 1,100 receiving yards in each of the last two seasons while amassing 197 receptions and 12 touchdowns for the Las Vegas Raiders. His combination of size, speed, and athleticism makes him a threat from anywhere on the field, especially in the red zone where he saw 31.1% of his team’s targets last season.
Waller’s expansive role in the offense is certainly not expected to change this season, even with the offseason additions of John Brown and Willie Snead to the receiving corps. He’s clearly established himself as Derek Carr‘s top weapon, garnering nearly twice as many targets as anyone else on the roster last year. Waller has also been able to stay on the field, playing every game in each of the past two seasons.
Between his volume and red-zone presence, Waller is set to remain one of the NFL’s most productive tight ends next year. Without a true WR1 to worry about, he’s still the Raiders’ top receiving threat and should post monster numbers again in 2021.
