Tennessee Titans 2021 Win Total Bet: Schedule, Changes, and Outlook
The Tennessee Titans had a whirlwind offseason, losing WR Corey Davis and TE Jonnu Smith to free agency but acquiring a future Hall of Famer in WR Julio Jones.
The addition of Jones gives Tennessee another explosive wideout to pair with A.J. Brown, giving them the best receiving tandem in the league. Combined with Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry, the Titans could finish with one of the NFL’s highest-scoring offenses this year. Their OL is still solid and while their tight ends are not remarkable, Anthony Firkser is not terrible.
The big question with Tennessee will be their defense, which ranked 24th in points allowed last year. With the departures of starting CBs Adoree’ Jackson and Malcolm Butler, the secondary could be in trouble this year. 2021 first-round pick CB Caleb Farley will be immediately forced to step up, although it will be tough to rely on him for 17 games after he opted out of the 2020 season. Bud Dupree is a welcome addition opposite Harold Landry as an edge rusher, but Dupree is coming off of an ACL tear and has been unreliable even when healthy.
Tennessee’s schedule does not do them any favors despite two matchups against the Houston Texans. Just within their division, the Jacksonville Jaguars are significantly improved with Trevor Lawrence under center and the Indianapolis Colts tied the Titans for most wins in the AFC South last year (11). Tennessee will also face numerous potential playoff teams that could suppress their win total to single digits.
Tennessee Titans 2021 Win Total Bet Pick
Titans To Win Under 9 Games In 2021-22 NFL Regular Season (+110)
This is a very tough call given Tennessee’s elite talent, but the defense is highly suspect and the offense is pretty top-heavy. If one of their stars loses significant time, there will be an ugly cliff. Brown had surgery on both knees this offseason and the 32-year-old Jones missed seven games last year, so it’s possible both will be sidelined at some point this season.
The Titans’ win total is not a bet I’m very confident in, but given their roster holes and difficult schedule I’m inclined to take the under.
