Houston Texans 2021 Win Total Bet: Schedule, Changes, and Outlook
The biggest change to the Houston Texans organization involves quarterback Deshaun Watson and his various allegations. Watson will not return to Houston regardless of the outcome and will be traded (per his wishes) once his situation is resolved.
Watson’s imminent departure dims the team’s outlook considerably for 2021, as he was one of the few bright spots on a roster that seems to be preparing to tank based on their offseason moves. Houston traded away All-Pro homegrown phenom J.J. Watt, made questionable free-agent signings (especially at running back), and hired a new head coach in David Culley to change the negative culture around the team. New GM Nick Caserio has a vision for the organization, but it will be a while before it’s ready to contend again.
Tyrod Taylor is presumably the Texans’ starting quarterback this season, but it would not be surprising if third-round pick David Mills gets a chance later in the year. Brandin Cooks is looking like the most talented skill player, but that may not last long if he’s traded like fellow receiver Randall Cobb.
The schedule doesn’t really matter much for a team like this given their obvious lack of talent, but it’s pretty brutal. The only “winnable" games on the surface are against the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets, both of whom should be better than Houston.
Houston Texans 2021 Win Total Bet Pick
Texans To Win Under 4 Games In 2021-22 NFL Regular Season (-115)
The Texans are awful and Watson will not play a snap for them this season. It’s clear they want a top QB in the 2022 NFL Draft to replace him, which means losing the vast majority of their games this year. They may luck into a handful of wins, but betting the under here looks like a safe play.
