Seattle Seahawks 2021 Win Total Bet: Schedule, Changes, and Outlook
The Seahawks are returning most of their roster from 2020 but have a few significant changes. The addition of Gerald Everett is huge for the offense, as they mixed a combination of Jacob Hollister, decrepit Greg Olsen, and post-achilles Will Dissly in 2020. This corps was targeted over 100 times last season and for the most part, they could be considered wasted targets.
Everett’s athleticism will be massive for a team like Seattle who needed a viable third-option beyond Tyler Lockett and D.K. Metcalf. The second half of 2020 was quite ugly for the passing attack due to teams keying in on those two and forcing passes elsewhere.
Defensively, Seattle will likely fall even further from their Legion of Boom days as the secondary loses CB1 Shaquille Griffin and Quinton Dunbar. They failed to properly replace them and did not add enough of a pass rush to make up for it. Seattle was 20th vs the pass according to DVOA last season, and could be even closer to the bottom this year.
Having to play in the NFC West makes their schedule brutal. Los Angeles added Matthew Stafford, San Francisco added Trey Lance, and Kyler Murray is only getting better in Arizona. That’s 6 games against competitive teams AND QBs. Seattle also has to face the Steelers, Washington, Packers, and the Justin Fields-led Bears.
Seattle Seahawks 2021 Win Total Bet Pick
Seahawks To Win UNDER 10 Games In 2021-2022 NFL Season (-115)
The team is going to improve offensively as Metcalf continues molding into a true WR1 and new OC Shane Waldron adds a modern twist. However, with the schedule and the defense at hand, it’s difficult in a 17-game season to envision more than 10 wins.
The Seahawks have added a win to their team total in each of the past 4 seasons, but that streak likely ends in 2021. They’ve only fewer than 10 games once in Russell Wilson‘s career, which makes this a very tough bet to take. I’d be hesitant to pull either way because the likeliest outcome is a push.
