Richard Janvrin is here with your NBA Best Bets for October 28, 2021 action. See our best NBA bet picks today.

After a Wednesday (10/27) where we saw Phoenix Suns big man Deandre Ayton accumulate 21 rebounds and Los Angeles Lakers star Russell Westbrook commit 10 turnovers, we head into a slightly smaller slate today.

The headline matchup here looks to be the New York Knicks on the road taking on the Chicago Bulls. In total, there are six games to sort through.

What are the best bets for today? Let’s dive in.

All NBA gameday odds and lines are current as of 10 a.m. ET on Thursday, October 28.

NBA Bets of the Day 10/28/21

Detroit Pistons @ Philadelphia 76ers, 7:00 p.m. ET

Best Bet: 76ers -10.5 (-110) at Caesars

The Detroit Pistons are, well, doing Pistons kind of things. At 0-3, they are the only remaining winless team and are dead-last in the league in points per game at just over 91. They cannot buy a basket.

Detroit’s only bright spot right now is second-year player Saddiq Bey, who is averaging an 18-point and nearly 11 rebound double-double.

The 76ers are coming off a rough 13-point loss against the Knicks but are averaging 114 points per 100 possessions. Yes, we’ll have to continue to deal with Joel Embiid being a game-time decision for the 76ers, but he should play.

Also, the Pistons will be without No. 1 overall pick Cade Cunningham and perhaps even Jerami Grant, the team’s second-leading scorer.

There are not many scenarios where I can imagine the Pistons covering here.

The 76ers win in a route.

Atlanta Hawks @ Washington Wizards, 7:00 p.m. ET

Best Bet: Hawks -1.5 (-110) at WynnBET

Some sportsbooks have this out to -2, but you should be able to find -1.5 with ease, especially at WynnBET.

This is an interesting matchup. Both teams are coming off of road games, but it’s the Washington Wizards who get home court. However, the Wizards are not doing so well health-wise.

Daniel Gafford went down with a right quad contusion and is set for an MRI. The other player to consider here is Spencer Dinwiddie, as he’s coming off a tough fought battle against the Boston Celtics, shooting 8-of-16 for a total of 22 points.

Coming off a major knee injury last season, this seems like a rest spot for Dinwiddie. There are also some other injuries to consider, depth-wise, such as Raul Neto and Anthony Gill, who are dealing with shoulder and calf injuries, respectively.

The Hawks come into this game playing well, especially from three-point range, where they are shooting at a 36 percent clip so far this season.

Even on the road in back-to-back games, the Hawks should pull this one out against the beat-up Wizards and cover.

Utah Jazz @ Houston Rockets, 8:00 p.m. ET

Best Bet: Jazz -9 (-110) at Caesars

The Jazz is demonstrating their defensive dominance this season, holding opposing teams to a measly 25 percent from three-point range. So far this year, this team is winning games by an average of 14 points, headlined by a 21-point shellacking against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Tonight, they get a young Houston Rockets team. This season the Rockets, who were prime tanking candidates, are playing decently, ranking in the middle of the pack in points per game, rebounds per game, assists per game, and opposing points per game.

Utah is just shutting teams down right now while scoring 113 points per game.

The Rockets may be an improved unit from preseason expectations, but this is not going to be pretty.
