World Series Props Picks & Predictions Game 1 | 2021 MLB Playoffs Play of the Day Today

Last Updated: Oct 26, 2021

Daniel Preciado is here with your Braves vs Astros World Series Game 1 Betting Props of the Day for October 26, 2021. All odds and lines are courtesy of BetMGM and current as of 12 PM EST on Tuesday, October 26.

Braves vs Astros Props: Best Baseball Props Today World Series Game 1

Framber Valdez: Over 3.5 Strikeouts (-160) at BetMGM

Valdez is coming off the best start of his postseason career. In Game 5 of the ALCS against the Boston Red Sox, the southpaw tossed eight innings of one-run ball, striking out five. Across 39 career postseason innings, Valdez has 39 strikeouts — an exact 9.0 K/9. This trend bodes well for this prop considering the very low total, but there’s a catch.

The Braves offense has been absolutely on fire over the last week, polishing off the Los Angeles Dodgers in six games. But some of Atlanta’s hottest hitters are left-handed, which only helps Valdez.

Freddie Freeman, Eddie Rosario, and Joc Pederson all play an integral role in the Braves lineup, so it will be interesting to see if some of the right-handed bats like Austin Riley and Dansby Swanson can step up.

I’m taking the Over on strikeouts because I expect Valdez to stay rolling.

Charlie Morton: Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-125) at BetMGM

Morton has amassed 19 strikeouts through 14.1 innings of work in the 2021 postseason. He pitched a gem in Game 1 of the NLDS against the Milwaukee Brewers, picking up nine strikeouts in six innings. In his two outings since, he has picked up five strikeouts in each.

The veteran right-hander was a member of the 2017 Astros team and he will look to get some “revenge." It always seems like pitchers are amped up when pitching against their former teams and I expect no different from Morton, who has great stuff.

At 37 years old, Morton was among the NL leaders in strikeouts this season with 216. Because this is just Game 1 of the series, I expect him to have a long enough leash to get up to five strikeouts or more.

Carlos Correa: Over 0.5 RBIs (+170) at BetMGM

Carlos Correa is one of the most clutch players in the league and has been historically for the Astros across their many playoff runs. The Astros shortstop is posting a .297/.395/.459 slash line through the 2021 postseason and I expect the power numbers to improve against the Braves.

Correa is one of the biggest run-producers on this Astros squad, driving in 92 runs during the regular season. I expect Correa to come up big in Game 1 at some point, whether it be against old teammate Charlie Morton or against the shaky Braves bullpen.

Back Correa to drive in at least one run in Game 1 as he tries to power the Astros to another World Series title.
