MLB Props of the Day: Best Baseball Props Today 10/10/21
Nathan Eovaldi: Over 5.5 Strikeouts (-111) at BetMGM
Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays, 4:07 ET
Nathan Eovaldi has put up a 25.5% strikeout rate with a 4.6% walk rate, which is great for his strikeout props because we don’t need to worry about walks increasing his pitch count, resulting in a quick hook. Eovaldi has racked up six or more strikeouts in 16 of his last 18 starts. This trend is too good to pass up.
The Rays posted a 24.4% strikeout rate against righties this season, which was the ninth-worst in MLB. Eovaldi put up a 2.39 ERA and 0.84 WHIP with seven walks and 31 strikeouts in four starts against the Rays this season. He’s allowed two runs or fewer in eight of his 11 starts. Eovaldi should be able to turn in a quality outing with six or more strikeouts in this spot.

Drew Rasmussen: Under 3.5 Strikeouts (-161) at BetMGM
Tampa Bay Rays @ Boston Red Sox, 4:07 ET
Drew Rasmussen has failed to rack up four or more strikeouts in eight of his 10 starts this season, including four consecutive outings. He’s a converted long reliever, so he does not pitch deep into games, maxing out at five innings as a starter, including four appearances with four innings or fewer.
The Red Sox have crushed righties this season, posting a .336 wOBA (T-3rd in MLB). It appears likely that the Rays will only push Rasmussen to three or four innings in this spot, making it difficult for him to hit the Over on this prop, making the Under a great play.
Xander Bogaerts Over 1.5 Total Bases (+130) at BetMGM
Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays, 4:07 ET
Xander Bogaerts is currently on a six-game hitting streak where he’s gone 9-for-20 (.450) with two homers and four RBI. Both of those homers have come in the last three games. Bogaerts is seeing the ball really well right now, walking eight times with only six strikeouts. He’s also put up consecutive multi-hit games.
Bogaerts has been a much better hitter at home this season, slashing .316/.383/.553 with 15 homers and 15 doubles. He’s also hit righties better than lefties, putting up a .301/.367/.520 slash with 16 homers and 26 doubles. The veteran shortstop looks like a good bet to keep it rolling today.

Dylan Cease Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-154) at BetMGM
Chicago White Sox vs. Houston Astros, 8:07 ET
Dylan Cease has posted an impressive 31.9% strikeout rate, which ranked 5th among qualifying starters. He’s racked up five or more strikeouts in 18 consecutive starts, demonstrating that this line is too low.
The reason that it’s at 4.5 strikeouts is that Cease has struggled with control at times (9.6% walk rate) and there’s a chance that the White Sox pull him at the first sight of trouble because they’re facing elimination. However, that trend is too good to avoid here, so we’ll need to fire up Cease as one of the best bets of the day.
