MLB Props Of The Day: Best Baseball Props Today 9/9/21
Pete Alonso, New York Mets at Miami Marlins
To Hit A Home Run (+360)
Wager: 0.5 units (win would pay 2.30 units)
The Miami Marlins play in a pitcher-friendly home park, but few stadiums can hold Pete Alonso, who ripped two home runs there in Tuesday’s series opener. He’s having another excellent season in the power department with 32 home runs and a .257 ISO, which includes a whopping .357 ISO against left-handed pitchers. He’ll be facing a southpaw in Jesus Luzardo who has surrendered 17 home runs across 72 innings this year, so the risk could be worth the potential reward at these odds.
Marcus Stroman, New York Mets at Miami Marlins
Over 4.5 Strikeouts (-140)
Wager: 1 unit (win would pay 1.71 units)
Stroman is not known for his strikeout prowess given his career 19.8% strikeout rate, although he does have a career-best 21.3% strikeout rate this season and a 25.8% strikeout rate over his last nine starts. He’s recorded at least five punchouts in five of his last six starts and racked up eight whiffs in his only start against Miami this season. Given that the Marlins have the second-highest K rate in baseball (26.1%), Stroman is one of the more attractive MLB prop picks today.
Adam Duvall, Atlanta Braves vs. Washington Nationals
To Record An RBI (+100)
Wager: 0.75 units (win would pay 1.50 units)
The Washington Nationals will be starting Erick Fedde, which is great news for the Atlanta Braves. In three starts against them this year, Fedde has been pounded for 16 runs (14 earned) on 19 hits over 11 1/3 innings. He’s also had a rough season in general with a 5.27 ERA and a 1.48 WHIP, so his struggles aren’t merely confined to the Braves.
With Fedde having trouble limiting baserunners, Adam Duvall could be primed to drive in at least one run. The NL RBI leader has plated 30 runs in 35 games since joining Atlanta at the trade deadline. Even if nobody’s on base for him, he’s always capable of driving himself in via a home run, which he’s done in three straight games and 33 times overall this year.
