The San Francisco Giants and Los Angeles Dodgers will face off in Game 3 of the NLDS as the series heads to Chavez Ravine.
The Giants took Game 1 behind a pitching masterclass from Logan Webb, in which he pitched 7 and 2/3 shutout innings, placing him amongst the best postseason performances in MLB history.
The Dodgers’ offense exploded in Game 2, though, and they received production from unlikely sources like Cody Bellinger and A.J. Pollock, who have been struggling at the plate.
These two teams are arguably the class of the league this season and comprise the most evenly-matched series in the playoffs.
Will the Giants retake the lead on the road, or will the Dodgers deliver a series lead in front of their home crowd? Let’s discuss my NLDS Game 3 Giants vs. Dodgers predictions and best bets.

Giants vs. Dodgers Game 3 Predictions
The Giants will send former Dodger Alex Wood (10-4, 3.83 ERA) to the mound in Game 3. Wood has an excellent postseason history with the Dodgers and will look to continue that trend against his old team. The Dodgers are a solid team overall against left-handed pitching, given their right-handed dominant lineup, so this should be an interesting matchup for Wood.
The Dodgers will be sending their ace Max Scherzer (15-4, 2.46 ERA) to the mound in Game 3 after he delivered an excellent performance in the NL Wild Card Game. He is well-regarded as a big-game pitcher, and he will look to make good on that moniker in Game 3.
The Giants’ bats have not been as steady as they were during the regular season, but it is only a matter of time before they find their groove.
The Dodgers, on the other hand, seemed to have found it offensively early in this series, scoring nine runs in Game 2. As previously mentioned, they are getting production from unlikely sources in some of their coldest hitters in Chris Taylor, Cody Bellinger, and A.J. Pollock.
The Dodgers have the pitching advantage and will have the Los Angeles crowd behind them in Game 3, and I believe they bring home a win.
Giants vs. Dodgers Game 3 Pick: Dodgers 6, Giants 3
Giants vs. Dodgers Game 3 Best Bets
Best Bet: Dodgers Moneyline (-200) at BetMGM
There is a lot of juice on the moneyline for the Dodgers in Game 3, but it is more than understandable given the pitching matchup. The Dodgers are the better team on paper for this one and will have their ace on the mound.
Back the hotter offense and the better starting pitcher in this game, regardless of the juice.
Best Bet: Over 7.5 runs (-105) at BetMGM
These two offenses are far too good to be given a run total of 7.5, in my opinion. Either of these teams can cover this total on any given night all by themselves, and the Dodgers can certainly do it against Alex Wood.
Take the Over 7.5 runs in Game 3 with the expectation that either the Dodgers continue their hot hitting, or the Giants find their groove.
