MLB Props of the Day: Best Baseball Props Today 8/27/21
Rich Hill, SP, New York Mets vs Washington Nationals (7:10 p.m. ET)
Rich Hill has averaged just 2.75 strikeouts per start in his last 8 and gets a Nationals team that is only striking out 20% of the time in August. The tough thing about the Nationals is they are also walking at a high clip (10%), while slashing .261/.348/.412. for 4.7 runs per game.
While 3.5 is a very low strikeout prop in this current baseball environment; the combination of Hill’s struggles along with the Nationals offense make the under a play for me.
Under 3.5 Strikeouts (-105)

Logan Gilbert, SP, Seattle Mariners @ Kansas City Royals (10:10 p.m. ET)
Admittedly, the strikeout prop lines have gotten pretty sharp these days, and it has become harder to find value on MLB player props. I have noticed that the recent performance of a pitcher (last four to eight starts) is where you can usually uncover a nugget or two.
We get that with Logan Gilbert, as he has struggled over his last six starts with a 8.36 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, but still striking out 9.6 K/9. He has averaged five strikeouts per start in that stretch and with his k prop at 5.5 we get him at a good number.
The other side is the Royals as a team do not strike out a ton (20% in August, but 23% on the road). The hope here is that Gilbert continues to give up a lot of contact and is knocked out before the fifth inning and goes under 5.5 strikeouts.
Under 5.5 Strikeouts (-105)
