The Los Angeles Dodgers not only brought back the core of their title team but also added 2020 NL Cy Young Award winner Trevor Bauer. While there are three Dodgers pitchers with odds of 20-to-1 or less, I think there’s only one bet worth making here. That wager is on Walker Buehler, who quietly remains the ace of the defending World Series champions. I’ll fade Trevor Bauer to repeat and can’t see Clayton Kershaw winning another Cy Young this late in his career. Take Buehler at 10-to-1 and let’s cash out at season’s end.
National League MVP
- Mookie Betts (+800)
- Cody Bellinger (+800)
- Cory Seager (+1500)
Similar to the Cy Young race, the Dodgers have three legit options to the MVP. While taking Mookie Betts or Cody Bellinger at 8-to-1 odds, I’ll be putting money on Cory Seager at 15-to-1. He’s seemingly a dark horse to win the award but is arguably the most important player on the field and in the lineup for the Dodgers.
Most Regular Season Home Runs
- Cody Bellinger (+1200)
This one corresponds with his MVP odds, but I’ll take 12-to-1 over 8-to-1 every day of the week. Even if Bellinger does lead the Majors in home runs, I don’t necessarily think that guarantees him to win the MVP. After finishing sixth in 2017 (39 home runs), he only hit 25 in 2018, followed by another 47 jacks in 2019. Last season remains an anomaly, which why I’m loving Bellinger to top the home run leaderboard in 2021.
