Fury vs Wilder 3 Predictions | Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3 Fight Odds & Bet Picks

Last Updated: Oct 10, 2021

Here are our predictions, odds and bet picks for Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder 3, the bout with the WBC and The Ring heavyweight titles up for grabs. Fury holds both belts and will defend them at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday, October 9.

Fury-Wilder 3 was originally scheduled for Saturday, July 24, but was postponed after Fury and several members of his camp tested positive for COVID-19.

Although the fight has been pushed back, the interest surrounding this third matchup will be enormous. It took an arbitration ruling to create this trilogy — one that rules in Wilder’s favor. As such, we will get one more serving of one of the most popular rivalries in recent memory.

Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder: 1st 2 Fights Recap

Wilder (42-1-1) was a favorite in the first two fights. He ultimately didn’t win either one.

Still, both matches were not without their moments. In the first fight, which took place in December 2018, Wilder delivered a massive right hand in the ninth round that felt like ended the fight.

Fury (30-0-1) was able to find his way to his feet before the 10-count, and he responded by putting together a series of quality rounds to close. The first encounter was ultimately ruled a draw.

In November 2019, the two fought again. Fury tipped the scales at more than 270 pounds — outweighing Wilder by more than 40 pounds. The difference showed. Fury spent much of the fight leaning on Wilder and using his size to his advantage.

Wilder ultimately fell to the ground on multiple occasions. While they were ruled “slips," he was largely dominating. When he began to bleed from his ear, his corner threw in the towel during the seventh round to protect him. Fury outscored Wilder significantly on all scorecards.

Tyson Fury: Keys To Defeating Deontay Wilder

  • Keep the Size Advantage: It was a solid strategy in the second fight, and it paid off in a big way. For Fury, maintaining a distinct size advantage is crucial on a variety of fronts. Fury has stated he might weigh even more this time.
  • Avoid the Big Shot: Despite the size difference, Wilder can still fire. Fury was caught a few times in the first fight and avoided Wilder brilliant the second time around.
  • Stay Confident: From singing to smiling, Fury seems to thrive when he’s most confident. There is no reason to think we will see any different traits considering the way the last fight concluded.

Deontay Wilder: Keys To Defeating Tyson Fury

  • Ditch the Costume From Fight 2: Yes, you read that right. In the second match, Wilder blamed his walkout wardrobe for tired legs, saying it weighed him down. Well, let’s not do that again.
  • Size Up: Wilder cannot weigh less than he did last fight, plain and simple. In fact, it’s crucial he tries to close the gap that really hurt him last fight. Anything over 240 pounds would be a start, although his conditioning cannot suffer.
  • Land More: It’s not the big shot. Wilder landed just 34 punches in their second fight, connecting on less than 25% of his punches thrown. That has to come up.

Fury vs Wilder 3 Fight Predictions

Tyson Fury (-290) to Win at FanDuel Sportsbook

I just simply don’t see Fury losing this fight. While Wilder’s power must be respected — and it certainly will —Fury has already taken one of his best shots and has thrived ever since.

While there isn’t great value, I’m not shying away. Fury was too dominant in his last fight to change course now.

Tyson Fury by KO or TKO (-110) at FanDuel Sportsbook

This is the best bet on the board, plain and simple. We’ve seen him win this way before, and I expect that to be the case again. I could see the first few rounds being slow, and then I expect it to heat up.

Fury, assuming he maintains a sizable weight advantage once again, has a chance to duplicate his formula from a fight ago. Results may follow suit.

Tyson Fury to Win In Round 10 (+2000) at FanDuel Sportsbook

It’s more art than science to find a round that ultimately figures for a knockout. I chose Round 10, largely because the feeling out process will take some time. Ultimately, however, the gap between the two will widen.

Pick a 3-minute window and hope for the best. This was mine.
