No. 15 Oklahoma (3-0) could face a tough introduction to the SEC when it opens up conference play in Norman against No. 6 Tennessee (3-0) this Saturday, Sept. 21, at 7:30 p.m. ET.
The Sooners are undefeated, but the results have been close and somewhat uninspiring. Meanwhile, the Volunteers, led by freshman QB Nico Iamaleava, have the nation’s best offense (63.7 points per game) and have steamrolled each of their opponents.

Tennessee vs Oklahoma Prediction
Tennessee 49, Oklahoma 35
Could Tennessee be fraudulent? I guess, but until proven otherwise, I’m riding the hot hand ahead of this matchup. The Volunteers lead the FBS in scoring and have limited their opponents to just 4.3 points per game, albeit against a relatively weak schedule.
As mentioned, the story for this team is Iamaleava, who currently ranks fourth in the Heisman odds. The freshman has thrown for 698 yards to go along with six touchdowns and two interceptions through his first three games, and that’s come on limited run.
Tennessee RBs Dylan Sampson and DeSean Bishop have been equally elite, accounting for 12 touchdowns and nearly 700 yards from scrimmage through three games. Sampson’s nine scores on 45 carries are already more than the seven he notched on 106 attempts over 12 games in 2023.
Oklahoma has held opponents to 11.3 points per game, but it hasn’t faced many quality teams thus far. A Week 3 win over Tulane stands out as the most impressive, but the Sooners mustered just 16 points and barely squeezed by Houston in Week 2.
Brent Venables is a terrific defensive mind, but I’m not sure any team has an answer for what Tennessee is doing right now. This might not be a blowout, but it should be a comfortable win on the road for the Volunteers.
Sportsbook Play of the Day
Tennessee vs Oklahoma Best Bets
Tennessee -7 (-115) @ Oklahoma
Tennessee enters Saturday’s tilt with an average margin of victory of 59.3 points. Obviously the Volunteers won’t win by such a wide range against Oklahoma, but this 7-point spread feels a little trivial given the bulk of their work this season.
Yes, Tennessee’s best win came against an overrated NC State team, but that’s better than anything the Sooners have accomplished this year. I fully expect the Vols to cover, so go ahead and make this your college football bet of the day.
Over 58 Points (-108)
Tennessee’s 63.7 points per game clear this total as it is. Oklahoma won’t allow them to hit such a high mark, but together, these teams should have no issues surpassing 58 combined points. Don’t overthink this one — just take the Over.
