The NCAA Tournament is onto the Sweet 16, which means it’s same-game-parlay season for March Madness bettors.
Tennessee and Florida Atlantic will vie for a berth in the Elite 8 in the second East Regional semifinal on Thursday at Madison Square Garden. It is expected to be a game of contrasting styles: the Volunteers play great defense, and the Owls have a potent offense.
Here is a look at a couple of same-game parlays I like for Tennessee vs Florida Atlantic.
Pat Pickens’ March Madness Betting Record: 8-11 (-5.5 units)
Tennessee vs Florida Atlantic Best Same Game Parlay
Tennessee vs Florida Atlantic Best SGP (+160) • DraftKings Sportsbook
WAGER: 1 Unit
- Tennessee Moneyline (-230)
- Florida Atlantic: Under 60.5 Points (+125)
- Under 138.5 Total Points (-265)
Florida Atlantic is averaging 78-plus points per game but has not seen a defense like the Volunteers’ this season. Tennessee is 22-0 in games where it surrenders fewer than 60 points but also is only scoring 71 points per game and has not surpassed 71 points in its past five games.

Thus, a teased-up Under is the play. This parlay also accounts for the potential for Florida Atlantic to score exactly 60 points. The Florida Atlantic Under 59.5 points would make it +180.
In this CBB bet of the day, a 78-60 Tennessee win will hit, and any fewer points in a Volunteers victory will only be a buffer.
Tennessee vs Florida Atlantic Longshot Same Game Parlay
Tennessee vs Florida Atlantic Longshot SGP (+425) • DraftKings Sportsbook
WAGER: 1 Unit
- Tennessee -7.5 (+115)
- Florida Atlantic: Under 59.5 Points (+145)
- Both Teams Score Fewer than 71.5 Points (-130)
It’s tricky to hit an SGP that combines a spread bet and an Under, let alone multiple Unders, but given the potential for a low-ish scoring game that Tennessee dominates, this is the one.
I’ve spent much of the story talking about Tennessee’s defense, but Florida Atlantic’s is no slouch either. The Owls are allowing just 65 points per game through their 36 games this season, which is top 40 in the country.
Thus, this is a game that may be decided in the 50s or 60s even. The only real worry I have with this parlay is Tennessee covering the spread, but a 70-59 Volunteers victory would win, as would a 65-52 Tennessee victory, like the win it scored over Duke in the second round.
