The NBA Play-In Tournament concludes tonight with the Minnesota Timberwolves hosting the Oklahoma City Thunder.
With the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference playoffs up for grabs, this game has all the makings of an instant classic preceding the NBA postseason.
Let’s dive in and examine my best and longshot parlays between the Timberwolves and Thunder.
Timberwolves vs Thunder Best Same-Game Parlay
Thunder vs Timberwolves Best SGP (+264) • DraftKings Sportsbook
WAGER: 0.5 Units
- Oklahoma City Thunder +4.5 (-110)
- Under 229.5 Points (-110)
The first leg on my best bet parlay targets the Thunder against the spread.
Given the current state of the T-Wolves, coupled with OKC’s gritty performance on Wednesday en route to eliminating the Pelicans, you’re getting the Thunder at an excellent number at 4.5 points. Not only do I think Oklahoma City will cover, I’m confident they win this one outright.
To complete this parlay, we’ll focus on the Under.
At this present moment, the status of T-Wolves center Rudy Gobert is unknown after an altercation with teammate Kyle Anderson. As a result, we’ll lock in our wager before prospective sportsbooks and markets make adjustments.
This game also features two teams who rank in the bottom-eight in the NBA in pace of play, which should keep the score Under in what promises to be a highly-competitive matchup.
Timberwolves vs Thunder Longshot Parlay
Timberwolves vs Thunder Longshot SGP (+340) • DraftKings Sportsbook
WAGER: 0.5 Units
- Oklahoma City Thunder Moneyline (+165)
- Josh Giddey Over 20.5 Points (-120)
My longshot parlay targets the Thunder winning outright and Giddey’s point prop. Let’s start with the moneyline wager.
The Thunder have been in desperation mode as of late, and find themselves in a favorable win-or-go-home encounter against Minnesota, who, to be frank, look in complete disarray at the most inopportune time.
Given the value of this selection (+160), I’m confident the Thunder will eke out a win here.
Giddey is coming off perhaps his best game of the season on Wednesday, popping off a career-high 31 points to go along with nine assists and 10 rebounds while shooting 57.8% from the field. Alongside his partner, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the two form a dynamic back court providing the Thunder with superior guard play.
He likely won’t score 31 points again, but he’ll play a major role in the Thunder’s offense and surpass his point prop to complete our parlay.
