The NBA postseason features 16 teams, with eight from each conference. Each playoff round is a best-of-seven series, where a team needs to win four games to advance to the next round.

Once the playoffs start, the bracket is set in stone, with no re-seeding in new rounds. The better seed in each round has home-court advantage, meaning it will host as many as four home games including Game 7

2. Boston Celtics

NBA Playoff Results: Boston Celtics Win Eastern Conference

The Boston Celtics have really taken their game to the next level once the calendar turned to 2022. Boston is one of the best defensive teams in the NBA, Jayson Tatum has had another fantastic season, averaging 26.9 points on 45 percent shooting, and forms a terrific duo with Jaylen Brown, who can light up the scoresheet as well, putting up 23.6 points per game.

Boston ranked seventh on offense and firstst in defensive rating, demonstrating a balance that you need in order to go deep into the playoffs. Guard Marcus Smart was named NBA Defensive Player of the Year, and Boston has allowed just 101.8 points per game while going 8-3 in the first two rounds, while polishing off the Brooklyn Nets and defending champion Milwaukee Bucks.

The Celtics opened the playoffs at +220 to come out of the East. They are now -175 to win the conference.

NBA Western Conference Current Playoff Order

3. Golden State Warriors

4. Dallas Mavericks

NBA Playoff Results: Golden State Warriors Win Western Conference

The Dubs narrowly held off the Memphis Grizzlies in six games and are back in the NBA Final Four for the first time since 2019. The Splash Brothers, the nickname for Golden State’s superstar tandem of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, have been awesome again, averaging more than 47 points per game between them. Plus, guard Jordan Poole has been the breakout performer of the postseason, averaging 19-plus points and almost five assists per game.

The Mavericks may have Luka Doncic carrying them through the postseason, but Golden State is battle-tested, with this being its sixth conference-final appearance in the past eight seasons. Plus, the Warriors will have home-court if the series goes seven games, and they went 31-10 at Chase Center during the regular season and are 6-0 in home games in the postseason.

NBA Championship Futures Pick

Celtics to Win NBA Championship  (+200)

The Celtics have two stud wings in Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, each capable of taking over a game or hitting a big shot in a key moment. They also have strong defenders like Marcus Smart and Al Horford.

This team is playing as good as anyone right now and looks poised to make noise in the 2022 NBA Playoffs.
