The Denver Nuggets proved that they are the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference by convincingly defeating the Phoenix Suns 118-102 in Game 5. Nikola Jokić had another triple-double, and Bruce Brown contributed 25 points off the bench.
Kevin Durant notched a double-double and Devin Booker scored a team-high 28, but it wasn’t enough to lead the Suns to a road victory.
Let’s dive into the odds and best bets for Game 6 between the Nuggets and Suns.

Nuggets vs Suns Game 6 Prediction
Nuggets 115, Suns 110
The Nuggets are going to close out the series in Phoenix on Thursday night. It’s unsustainable for the Suns to rely on Booker to shoot at least 80% from the field because that is the only way they will win this game. In the two games the Suns won at home in the series, Booker shot a combined 79% from the field.
Booker only shot 42.1% from the field in Game 5, and the Suns lost by double figures. No one from the Suns’ bench contributed much either, which is more like what we’ve seen for the majority of this series.
The Suns’ reliance on Booker and Durant will be their downfall in Game 6. Back the Nuggets to close out the series.

The Nuggets put on a dominant performance in Game 5 on the offensive and defensive side of the ball. They were able to contain both Durant and Booker, and none of the other Suns players stepped up.
Deandre Ayton did have 14 points, but it was not enough for the Suns to win the game.
I don’t expect another great three-point shooting performance from Landry Shamet in Game 6, so I like the Nuggets to win Game 6 and advance to the Western Conference Finals with my NBA bet of the day.

Nuggets vs Suns Series Preview
The Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns both won their first-round playoff series in five games. Each team also advanced to the second round without any of their players suffering any major injuries, which has become unusual during this postseason.
Suns guard Devin Booker had an incredible series against the Clippers, averaging 37.2 points on an absurd 60.2% shooting from the field. He had two games with over 45 points as well.
After acquiring Kevin Durant ahead of the NBA trade deadline, the Suns quickly became a favorite to win the title this year. They will now have to go through the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference to advance.
Let’s dive into the odds and best bets for this second-round series between the Nuggets and Suns.
Nuggets vs Suns Series Odds
To Win Series: Nuggets (+120) • Suns (-140)
The Nuggets are the top seed in the West but come in as underdogs in this series against the Suns. We’ve already seen the No. 1 team in the Eastern Conference get eliminated, so anything is possible here.
The Suns beat the Clippers in five games, but the games and series were a lot closer than the final result might show. The injury to Kawhi Leonard really derailed the Clippers’ chances, and if it wasn’t for Booker’s prolific scoring, it might’ve gone the full seven games.
This series does feature two former MVP winners in Nikola Jokić and Durant, but it’ll be the production from the rest of their respective teams that will be the deciding factor.

Nuggets vs Suns Series Prediction
Nuggets Win 4-3
The Suns’ lack of depth is going to be their downfall in this series. They really only have one player in Josh Okogie that can provide quality minutes off the bench, and against a team as athletic and lengthy as the Nuggets, this is going to be a problem.
If Deandre Ayton gets in foul trouble defending Jokić, the Suns don’t really have anyone off the bench that can match up against the MVP big man. I expect this series to go at least six games, so fatigue could become a problem as it wanes on.
Nuggets vs Suns Series Best Bets
Nuggets to Win Series (+120) • DraftKings Sportsbook

The Nuggets series spread is +2.5 games, but it is juiced to (-400). The betting markets expect this series to go at least six games, and I think the Nuggets will pull it off in seven.
Denver is a tough place to win for any visiting team, as the Nuggets have only lost seven games at home this season — the second-best home record in the NBA.
